Lotyx Character in Akun | World Anvil

Lotyx

Omnipotent Lightning Anima

Lotyx, if one were to believe the myth of the world, is an outsider. He’s an alien entity unto their fellow gods themselves. Some proto-religious scholars argue that Lotyx was just a god of slaughter with a new uniform and polish. On the other hand, it seems easy to find one’s grounding and sense of self in nature where Lotyx’s influence reigns most freely. Entirely due to circumstance, Lotyx is blamed for lycanthropy of persons. Lastly, his role of messenger is often debated as such things like a warning, retribution, punishment, or worse by the gods. By being the divine representation of both nature and communication, those that have survived natural disasters tense with the sound of Lotyx’s name.

Artifacts

Helm of the Sentinel

This helm has 3 charges for the following properties. It regains all expended charges daily at dawn.
Counterspell. You can use an action to expend 1 charge and establish a defensive ward with a contingent counterspell spell. The next time you can see an unfriendly creature within 60 feet of you casting any spell that either targets you or causes you to make a saving throw, the counterspell spell immediately takes effect whether or not you want it to, as if you had cast it using your reaction. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for this spell. The ward ends immediately after counterspell takes effect or at dawn.
Protection. You can use an action to expend 1 charge and cast the protection from energy spell on yourself.
Deflection Field. You can use a bonus action to expend 1 charge and cast the shield of faith spell on yourself.
Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)

  Merchant’s Watchdog

These simple looking rings are used by merchants to alert them of potential manipulation. Whenever a spell of the illusion or enchantment school is cast within 15 feet of the ring, it vibrates slightly. It provides no other information about the spell (caster, school, level, etc). To avoid this detection, the caster of the spell must pass an arcana and stealth skills combined dc roll value of 10 + spell level + perception modifier of the wearer of the Merchant’s Watchdog. If a spell is under the effects of the Metamagic - Subtle Spell or similar ability then the combined skill dc roll value is 10 + spell level.
Wondrous Item, uncommon

Tenets of Faith

Temples: The post offices and druidic circles are two halves of the different temples of Lotyx. The post offices are those associated with duty to others, whereas the druidic circles are associated with the pursuit of understanding and becoming one with nature. The various locations are all maintained to various degrees but each must and shall always possess a tiny yellow drop box for messages to be sent to the Gods, those that have passed, or others.

Rituals: The Wrappings are a semi-private moment between the head post guardian and new applicants. The guardian takes the time to properly wrap the young entrants soles, feet, ankles, and calves in fresh sky blue linen with a simple wooden sole below their feet in preparation for their first run. This is done for any choosing to follow Lotyx as they prepare for the Day Chaser. The new wrapped legs are then soaked in oil before being set in clay to harden before the start of the delivery.

Holidays

The Day Chaser. This is an event where every package, undelivered or lost is summoned to the closest Post Office. From sunrise to sunset, both halves of the temples work together. The Druidic half summoning lost packages & communing with nature to best find their destinations and routes. THe Post Office half focuses on the delivery of these items and making sure nothing is left by the end of the day.
