Ojun

Golden Thunder of the Clouds

These words are for the wise only; no common mortal enters these halls unaware. The believers are cult-like, almost esoteric. Those that would serve Ojun must prove their accomplishments. Sovereign ruler of all and patron of monarchs. Ojun allows Dhualdir to lead the Pantheon in the light, while the Golden Thunder of the Clouds predicts & influences the Pantheon alongside their creations. Ojun was never able to defy the Heavens as he walked through them and shaped them himself to his own liking. His “fall” was akin to a performance. Ojun always listens to those that pray for his aid, but will only respond powerfully to those that have a chance to change knowledge on a grand scale. Worshippers may be anarchist by nature at times as many identify as Mind Openers, critical thinkers of religion and social authorities.

Artifacts

Ring of the Split Mind This crimson ring is split into two half-circles that magically hover a hair's breadth apart. While wearing the ring and concentrating on only one spell, you have advantage on Constitution saving throws that you make to maintain your concentration on that spell when you take damage. If you're concentrating on a spell of 3rd level or lower and wearing the ring, you can choose to cast another spell of 3rd level or lower that also requires concentration without losing concentration on the first one. While concentrating on two spells in this way, make a Constitution saving throw for each spell as normal whenever you take damage to maintain your concentration. When you do, roll the d20 for each spell's saving throw in the order in which you cast them. You are vulnerable to psychic damage while concentrating on two spells in this way. Once this property of the ring has been used, it can't be used again until the next dawn.   “Ojun had always been accused of never giving something his full attention. "Why should I?" he thought, the two spells quickly taking hold. He watched limbs and weapons wane to a crawl or burst into a blurry frenzy. "Half my attention is still better than most others' full.” Such is the mind of a creator god that has yet to set down their quill" - The Tale of Ojun   “My headaches get worse but my results are better!” - Guru of Ojun   Ring, very rare (requires attunement)

Conspirator's Coat   This magic longcoat is adorned with raven feathers and carved jet buttons. While wearing this coat, you have advantage on Charisma (Deception) checks. In addition, the coat has 5 charges and regains 1d4 + 1 expended charges daily at dusk. While wearing the coat, you can use a bonus action to expend 1 of its charges to disappear, releasing up to three ravens from your location under your control that scatter into the air. Each raven has AC 12, 1 hit point, and can fly up to 40 feet as part of this bonus action without provoking opportunity attacks. At the start of your next turn, the ravens vanish, and you reappear in the space of one of the ravens (your choice). If all the ravens are reduced to 0 hit points, you reappear early in the same space as the last one that died. When you do, any excess damage dealt to the raven carries over to your normal form.   “The king was a proud man; he had gained much in life, his wealth preserved and protected against even the craftiest of raiders and statesmen alike. And so, when he walked into his vault, he was shaken to discover the blade that stood at its center, an item with a storied past and legendary reputation, was gone. In its place was a letter, unmarked, sealed with the black symbol of a single feather. As his trembling hands opened it, he read, To whom it may concern, fondest greetings! I hope this letter finds you as well as may be given the inevitable circumstances of its discovery. Know I truly wish no ill towards you or, as it may be, who you serve. If it will assuage your fears, view this as a simple transaction of business in which your preparation was matched against my wit, with the only outcome likely in such a scenario having come to pass. Try to find me if you will, but know you do so at your own cost and peril. None but my own, The Ravenheart As the king rushed through the corridors to inform the head of his guard, he passed by a member of his court, the trusted Baronet Alistair Rook. In his haste he brushed against the man's black coat, muttering a word of apology before sprinting off. He missed the man's self-satisfied smile as he turned the corner. And, in a flurry of feathers, the hallway was empty once more.” - Ravenheart, Alistair Rook   “Evading captors, crazed lovers, or just a bar tab; I’m glad Ojun always came up with a plan.” - Drunk Messenger in a Drosa Tavern evading his third tavern bill of the night   Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)

Chronomancer's Eyepiece   This singular lens lets you faintly see and command the flow of time around a target. The eyepiece has 5 charges and regains 1d4 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. While wearing the eyepiece, you can expend 1 charge as a reaction at the end of another creature's turn to speak either of the eyepiece's two command words to warp the flow of time around that creature. You must be able to see the target, and it must be within 60 feet of you. Past. If the target is willing, it is teleported back to the space it was at the beginning of its turn. If another creature or object is occupying the space, the target is teleported to the nearest unoccupied space instead. An unwilling target must succeed on a DC 16 Charisma saving throw or be teleported in this way against its will. Future. If the target is willing, it can immediately choose to move again, up to half its speed, without provoking opportunity attacks. After a target moves in this way, its speed is halved until the end of its next turn.   “The flow of water can be dammed, but only for so long. So, too, can time. I can see that clearly now.” -Wisdom of Ojun   “Evading capture is just part of a Mind Opener’s duty. It just so happened that this time I helped my Guru be in a different place at the right time too. Maybe this year, she’ll let me make the Turkey Bread instead.” - Ravenheart, Alistair Rook   Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement)

Tenets of Faith

The Shadow Discovery is when someone first finds the secret meeting of the Mind Openers, the strong believers of Ojun. This is not a planned event entirely, the people that find the clandestine night service either do so entirely with intent or by chance. However, just as Ojun knows all, the Gurus of Ojun are able to divine opportunities for new members of the Mind Openers. They set some of the more investigative Mind Openers to learn about new members and act as a mentor to their new sibling praising the Golden Cloud. Those that join are accepted and taught the code words to find recognized members.

Their main teachings revolve around trust and spirituality, and these teachings are often passed on through community newsletters and monthly town gatherings. Ojun’s teachings come from a book translated several times, written by quoting different godlings & gods as a means to help mortal kind find their purpose.

Holidays

For Ojun, the holiday that all don’t know but know is the Codice Union. Mind Openers travel to the nearest steeple on the Winter Solstice to each confess three truths to their Guru and fellow Openers. A singular bell tolls from the steeple for the first truth. The first truth is a new fact learned since last they met about the world. Two bell tolls chime across the dead of the night silence for the second truth. The second truth is a new fact they learned of a close relationship, be that a partner, teammate, sibling, friend, rival, etc. Three bells toll before the third truth. Finally, the third truth is one that they have had to face about themselves. This process goes until dawn, then all the Mind Openers and Gurus celebrate with a breakfast of turkey shreds baked into bread. During the feast, the Guru shares the lie to spread for the year. After breaking of the fast, everyone returns to their lives, while the Gurus all travel to an unknown meeting place to finish the Codice Union before it is offered to Ojun for the year.
