Mental characteristics

Personal history

Ghallus was born in the ancient city of Archaia on the technologically advanced continent of Alda. He was born to a middle class family during a time a tremendous prosperity and peace in the land. This was during the Age of Separation when Alda had been closed off to the rest of the world.      When Ghallus was 6 months old, his family was visited by a prophet sent from God to appoint him as the next heir to the The Arvalis. Soon after he was taken to the Temple of Korazel where the current Keeper Salamar resided. He was raised by Salamar and was mentored by him to knows the ways of a Keeper and how to responsibly and rightfully wield the Arvalis. Salamar had very open ideals when it came to the use of the Arvalis. He made the power of the Arvalis a usable power source for the people of Alda. There was an entire Science & Research Facility built to study the use of the Arvalis and its effects. It was because of this that Alda was able to become so technologically advanced; using the Arvalis as an infinite power source of immeasurable value. Salamar eventually passed away and the Arvalis was passed down to Ghallus. He ascended to the role of Keeper at the age of 37. He continued ruling in the way that Salamar had instructed him for almost 60 years without change. He allowed the people to continue their studies and advancements in technology using the Arvalis as a power source. It was around that time that he started to take notice of how the people had become corrupt from its power. He heard stories of how Alda could conquer the world with their technology, and how many people were against the separation between them and the rest of the world. It was illegal for any citizen to leave Alda, and the continent itself was prtected from the outside world even finding it. At this time, as far as the rest of the world was concerned, Alda was a legend or myth, nobody had been to Alda or seen their technology. After assessing the people and their motives, Ghallus called for a ban of the use of the Arvalis for civilian use that would take place in two years time. This immediately caused riots and uproars across the entire continent. This would mean that technology would be reduced to that of the outside world, to live once again like peasants.    The general upset of the population continued throughout the entire first year, with riots and uprisings scattering around the continent. Three months into the second year leading up to the ban, the people joined together in an attempt to call a vote on whether or not Alda even needed a Keeper anymore. They had proposed that without a central Keeper, they could have unlimited use of the Arvalis and could open the borders as well. Two notable groups formed where people wanted to open the borders for the purpose of advancing the technology of the world around them, and another for the purpose of world domination. Enraged at the rebellion of his people, Ghallus decided the Arvalis ban would begin a week later. This angered the people and a group a scientists quickly constructed war machines and cannons that were able to use pure Arvalis energy as its weapon. Then, on a foggy night, they positioned themselves around the Temple where Ghallus lived, and all at once they attacked. Ghallus rose to action and levitated above the Temple. Using his power of the Arvalis, he began vaporizing those that were attacking the temple. The cannons were blasting pure Arvalis energy straight up into the sky in an attempt to kill Ghallus. It was in that moment that He became aware of their heart motives and saw the corruption of all his people. In that instance he raised his arms and destroyed the people of Alda. Every man, woman, and child were killed in an instant. He continued in his anger by causing deep ocean earthquakes causing the majority of the continent to sink and be destroyed. He caused (what has been called) Arvalis storms throughout the lands that burned and obliterated any living creature. After all the dust had settled, Ghallus was left alone in a destroyed land, his people gone, and their technology made useless.    After the destruction of Alda, Ghallus hid what was left behind the Aldan Barrier which caused the remains of Alda to become invisible and inaccessible to the world. He then took the Arvalis and left for Foxwood to live on the Island of Aulcmog. There He established his own Temple and gathered together a group of acolytes to serve him. Over time, these acolytes came to be called the Lightkeepers. It was in this Temple that Ghallus entrusted them with the Key of Alda, a part of the Arvalis that could give access to the remains of Alda. Along with it, he wrote a scroll that gave instructions on how to use the Key and about the Temple. During the next few decades, Ghallus roamed the world, meeting with the kings and leaders of the nations, often disguised as on old man in a cloak with a tall wooden staff. This continued for next hundred years before he decided to officially move back to The Great Metropolis of Silverspire and take up residence in the Divine Palace of SkyeKeep. Long ago, previous Keepers would live in Skykeep and govern the world from there.    Ghallus continued to live in Skyekeep for the next few hundred years until the present time.

Education

Ghallus has learned most everything there is to know. By use of the Arvalis, his lifespan has been greatly extended, more than any other human being before him. Over the course of over 500 years, Ghallus has learned everything from politics, language, history, economy, strategy, music, art, theater, dance, cooking, gardening, architecture, blacksmithing, jewel crafting, sailing, hunting, farming, and combat. Because of his connection with Alda, he has also learned the secrets of advanced technology from biometric computing, holographic communication, antigravity, synthetic material blending, and advanced building architecture.
