Alda

Alda is a medium sized continent (think a bit smaller than Australia) in the northeast hemisphere of the world. Alda is the homeland to the Aldar, the people of God, the chosen ones. They lived on the continent of Alda for thousands of years. They were known throughout the world as a blessing to every place they went because there was something about them that caused favor wherever they went. The land of Alda was the most fertile, the wealthiest, the most powerful, and most harvest rich nation the world had ever seen. During the reign of Keeper Rastell, there was a census that called every Aldar man, woman, and child to return to Alda from around the world. After this, he enacted the Law of Separation, barring anyone of Aldan descent to leave the continent and also that nobody could enter Alda or come close to it if they were not of Aldan descent. He believed that the Aldar were a superior people and the world did not deserve to mingle with them. Later, Keeper Salamar allowed studies to be done on the Arvalis and used it as an all-powerful, infinite source of energy to be used to further technology and culture. Soon Alda was the most technologically advanced people ever, far exceeding anything that exists even on earth today. However, it all ended when Keeper Ghallus destroyed Alda by use of the Arvalis, along with every person of Aldan descent that was alive. At its peak, Alda was split into 5 countries, ruled by 5 kings, all under the Keeper. 
Alda is an important location in the story overall. Although in the current timeline, Alda is mostly destroyed and gone, it was home to Grand Keeper Ghallus, one of the antagonists of the story. It was also here where the Arvalis was first given protect the land. In the current timeline, Alda is very much a mystery to the world. While it was still populated, it was off limits to the rest of the world for a couple hundred years, and then suddenly it had vanished. For the last several years, it became less of a historical place and more of a myth or legend. Many people today don’t even believe it ever existed. Most people believe that the Arvalis has always been in Silverspire and that Alda was just a story. The party visits Alda near the end of the second act of the story and confirm its existence. In between Acts 2 and 3, the main antagonist Rael travels there and learns there technology.

Geography

Alda was a rich and beautiful continent. Mountainous and lush with thick forest and many rivers to water its fertile fields. It was known to many as a paradise of sorts.
