The Reichstag

The Reichstag or formerly Alte Oper is the governing body of The German Empire or West Germany. Originally an Opera house, the resulting ceasefire forced, Wolfgang Kapp's to rebrand the building as the new Reichstag.

Past History:

The building was designed by the Berlin architect Richard Lucae, Construction began in 1873, and It opened on 20 October 1880. It was an opera house and once, it was visited by William I, German Emperor.

Current History:

After the Kapp Pustch, in March 1920 Wolfgang Kapp restored The German Empire securing his grip of West Germany by May 1920 but The East collapsed to communist's, as they took Berlin forcing Kapp the goverment to relocate to Frankfurt. The Reichstag building in Berlin was renamed into "The Berlin Soviet" and was rebranded as the official body of The GSR.

As the nation plugged into civil war between The East German Soviet Republic and Kapp's Dictatorship under restored Wilhelm III. Kapp, used Alte Oper as used as a replacement to the seized Reichstag in Berlin held by Communists. However, the civil war reached a stalemate and entered into a ceasefire in January 1922. The Western German Government decided, to rebrand the building as the new Reichstag until Berlin is liberated.

After an snap election in March 1922, The German National People's Party won, getting a majority in the Reichstag, while the other parties The Social Democratic Party Of Germany, The Centre Party, The German Democratic Party, The German People's Party and new radical right wing, The National Socialist German Workers' Party we're in the opposition.
