Project: Dragons

The Lore Section: Dragons is one of the most well defined sections within the world. The goal of this project is to create a template for lore section and then define them according to what I have done here. Each lore section project will have the same structure as this one.

Summary

What is a dragon?
Dragons are a collection of species who are all related to various dinosaur species. What makes them stand out from the other dinosaurs is that they are supernatural. They existed for as long as dinosaurs went mostly extinct together with the other dinosaurs 66 million years ago.
Why did the dragons go extinct?
The dragons went extinct together with the dinosaurs because of the meteorite that crashed into the Earth. They predicted this event and prepared, but that did not help save any of their species. Only one dragon and her eggs survived the event. However, the eggs were damaged and the hatched dragons were mere beasts incapable of telempathic communication. These youngling propagated and survived until they were wiped out by human hunters.
What makes dragons still relevant today?
Dragon Bones are the legacy of the extinct dragons. Their properties make them extremely valuable to humans. Because of the Dragon Bone Affliction they are dangerous as well.
What are the abilities of dragons?
Two abilities of dragons are known today. The first is Dragonic Authority which is the ability to control and overpower creatures with emotions through a teleempathic connection. The other ability is Supernatural Energy Manipulation. This ability can be used to manipulate any kind of supernatural energy. It is an extremely powerful ability.
How did people react to the news that dragons were a thing in the past?
TBD
What kind of art and media did this inspire?
Dragons are today the most famous supernatural species in the world. True Dragon Con is a massive convention in Manhattan about anything dragon.

Main Story

The main story is told from the perspective of Nawaar al-Farran. As an expert she is holding a guest lecture at the College of Mystical Arts & History about dragons, their history and how they still influence the supernatural communities today.

Reading Order

The goal is to establish a reading order within the lore section. This reading order should have established navigation elements that are clearly visible. They guide the users through the main storyline. In each article there should be a link back to the start of the storyline if they came in from somewhere else than the start.
  1. Dragon
  2. Extinction (TBD)
  3. Dragon Bones
  4. Dragon Bone Affliction
  5. Dragonic Authority
  6. Dragonic Teleempathy
  7. Supernatural Energy Manipulation
  8. True Dragon Con

Flash Fiction

These are small stories in quotes from Cassidy about her past. All of them are an interaction with a human that she met. In each case the human remains a mystery, but is mentioned to become someone important in the dragon loyalists faction.

Relevant Connections

The connections from this lore section should be placed with care. Only characters, organizations and places count as connections. All other articles where dragons are the subject should either be related to one of these connections or are placed in the lore section on dragons. In each category there should be between two and five connections.
