Syrus Plains Journal 1

by Syrus

After reconnecting with the group back at Lotterdad's tavern, we celebrated our successes and said our goodbyes to the Green Elves. We were hailed as "Dragon Slayers", which leaves a gross taste in my mouth to even think about.

Our next location to travel to is the Plains near my homeland, where the Phrat'ii have set up an encampment. We immediately fell into a prison hole dug by the Phrat'ii, and were threatened when I tried to fly out to reconnoiter the area. Here we met John, a Victri who has been trapped here for form time.

Soon, we were magically floated out of the hole, but before the Phrat'ii could explain themselves, Ko and Lucid had performed a combined oil and arcane attack to blow some of the Phrat'ii away. I tried to ready my bow to strike, but the lizard closest to me just pushed it away before being struck by Mura.

Furthermore, the leader of the Phrat'ii called for us to stop, and explained that he wanted to use us to infiltrate a nearby Solen city and disable their shield so the Phrat'ii could attack. I could feel his gaze upon me, knowing that I would refuse his offer, but perhaps he hoped my allies would agree regardless.

I thought back to my teachings at home, of the 4 chosen who would become Gods like Kah did centuries ago. In particular, I thought of Foo, who once returned from his exile to train his Monk abilities, proclaimed himself as one of the chosen of Alpha. "Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one", he declared, his head held high, sure in his strength, his wisdom, his purpose.

If I was at his level, these Phrat'ii would not be a problem to take care of, and I wouldn't have to worry about playing into their game. Perhaps one day, I can become as holy and sure as him.
