Escape

As the volcanic eruption rained down the island, we fought off the priestess and the army of guards that assaulted the palace. While we didn't kill her, unfortunately, we wounded her enough to escape while the guards surrounded us. Just as things seemed dire, with lava pooling up around the castle and only us and the King's sons remaining, Nakah and Lucid appeared outside urging us to jump into the portal.

We recouped - while we had managed to close the ley line, the King was dead and island destroyed. We had nothing to do with it, and it wasn't our duty to protect it or the people, but it still felt like we failed.

Zeno decided to stay in Maya with us while we recouped and recovered from the crazy events that befell us, but just as things seemed to go back to normal, Nakah announced that he would use his research to JOIN the Lazerus Academy. With that note of betrayal, he teleported away to parts unknown.

From here, who knows? My adventures so far have not gotten me any closer to my goals, save for the egg - this bargaining chip could become useful with returning home and wiping away the clan's influence on me. But even if I do return, what then? I don't know if I'm ready for that responsibility yet.
