We gingerly walk into the room with the spiral staircase expecting the statues to come to life. As we're in the room I look around and at the base of the statues, there are small cracks and chipped bits of rock around their feet. We decide to not bother poking around and start climbing the stair case. Thankfully the statues haven't started moving. We do realise we're walking in a loop and appear back in the same room. We try to activate the boxes in the room and we hear clicking but nothing else seems to change. The bigger statue has moved about a foot closer.
I go up the staircase again but at the top this time, the ceiling is not there but a beautiful night sky. I look back down and see the big gargoyle statue moving towards the rest making their way to the stairs. It manages to grab Malaphor. I react quick enough to cast Banishment on the creature and send it away briefly, allowing us to go up the stairs.
We look down from the edge of the tower top and see most of the structure we were within, which is perched on top of a large rock which looks like it was taken from somewhere and sent here.
I notice at certain angles while walking around the tower, I notice the ceiling we're standing on there's a section that has a slight faded shimmer, as if trying to be invisible. Looking in we see a familiar bedroom, Malaphor's and Austar's room from The Calico Inn. I step through the threshold and find myself back in the room.
Taking in the surroundings, there's sunlight coming through the window, likely early morning. Can hear movement and commotion of life down at the dockside nearby. The room is destroyed, and covered in scorch marks.
In our room, the Menagerie box is still there but it's closed, and there's a large crack going from the top of the lid down to the bottom.
Ape takes it with him out of Janger to try and open it. I find out later that when he opened it to let a creature out, the creature died pretty horribly, and there was a huge explosion causing him to lose his leg briefly.
Because we didn't get to rest, we all head back to our rooms and sleep through the day.
We awake and meet for breakfast downstairs. We discover that Ape has lost his power with Asgorath. After some communing, Austar finds out he has Ape's power stored in him.
We make our way to the Moon Quay Port to find Care Sailor Fu'Shen. One of the workers tells me he's usually found in the Dockmark Ward. Fu'Shen is human, bald with pointed eyebrows. Got up and opened the door angrily. We then find out that Lady Geller died as a stillborn and was angry we were using her name in vain. Austar created a major image of the Lady Geller that we had met. He seems to calm down and is now a bit flushed for words. We find out her name is Lyris Barot, her father is in charge of Janger as it stands. He replaced Anugis Geller who was the previous head of the town.
The White Sands, the northern side western coast of Lanali is where most civilization is, and is more standard.
The Greyclaw or The Grey coastline, the southern section of the North coast. They are very much against the rights of animalian species/races of this world, so Raskin likely wouldn't be welcome.
The Sea Spirit is coming to dock later this evening from The White Sands and will head back in two days to Corshoula, seen as the capital of Lanali. Gadem Bask, Kari and Nentos came from here.
I sent a message to Kari about the Sky People but all she knows is that it's likely a legend or myth.
Adraventis the Triton capital city under water. Doesn't allow for ships to sail over it.
We head to Notch and Point, a shop that seems to specialise in bows and arrows.
Miss Mes-Merries Oceanside Oddities, in the shop on a stepladder is a small Arakocra. Greying feathers, features of a fuzzy grey falcon. Wearing flowing green yellow robes that drag along the floor.
I see a large crystal/gemstone in sea blue about the size of my palm. I find out from the gem that when broken, it will conjure a water elemental.
Red puffy trousers, aviator jacket and aviator goggles. A smaller variation of a Tabaxi. Captain Kitri.
Ape tells us that he won't be joining us on our venture to Lanali as he's worried about his lost powers, as well as the reoccurring dream he has of his people. He's going to head back to Xiao Shan and speak to Master Xi Feng. I gave him my Ring of Sending so he can use it to contact us if he needs to.
