Before we left the hags hut, we found a bit of cloth that looks like the scarf Bob wears. Arc identifies it and discovers it's made for holding curses!
Also Arc gave me a real sweet picture of the Merrymeads. What a sweet little lump of honey he is!

It took us about a day and a half to get back to the manor. We showed the vile of blood to Anstysa an she told us to break it. So we did. After that she was able to move on. It was rather touching.

After that we went to Elwin to see about our reward. He paid us in a pouch full of gems and money.

That night I asked Rankle to do my hair. He made an elaborate braid, and boy howdy I look fancier than a peach at a county fair on a Sunday! If he ever decides to settle in one place he could make a right fortune in hair designs!

Next, we went to see how Stassi was getting on. Man alive, it was like talkin to a whole nother person. She said sorry for bein sucha bitch last time. While we were there, Abby made a second breakfast that was tastier than taters on a Tuesday. Then he bought a coupla horses and a cart and we headed toward Headwaters.

We arrived at a willow tree that had seen better days. Rankle said this is where his friend, Shirra lives. Turns out Shirra is a Dryad! How cool is that? She looked pretty sickly though. Well, Rankle started tying his hair collection to the branches of the willow tree. I got an idea, and used some of my nature magic to help him. Low and behold, Those bits of hair turned into leaves matching the colors of the hair! Even more interesting, some of Shirra's hair started to come back also matching the colors of the various hair braids. It sure is pretty.

After walking a little ways, we came to some ruins... With a communal stone chimney at the center... This was my home. This was Stone Chimney. We were standing right next to the very tree where... well.. you know. I never planned to come back here, the memories are just too... they're just too much. I'm not usually at a loss for words but I just couldn't say anything. I think I managed to tell the others I grew up here, but I don't really remember. Abby said something about having family nearby... and maybe something about one of his family members dying in the same attack that took my family. I'll have to ask him more about that. He led us to New Stone Chimney. I had heard it existed... but never thought I'd be able to bring myself to visit. I was pretty numb still but remember they treated us real well at Abby's family's estate. Our host told me there were 200-300 survivors living here in New Stone Chimney. Then he called me brave. If he only knew... I hadn't planned on sharing my past with anyone but I might owe everyone the truth. If they knew they were traveling with someone responsible for the death of all their siblings... well they might not be comfortable letting me stick around. But I suppose they have the right to know what kind of person I really am. I'll tell them when I can find the words and accept whatever consequences come about.
