Barg & Phindwillas

by Never Nestknitter

We reached Shirriss and the people at the wall called up that nice Elven lady, Phidwillas. She asks for our help as the town has been attacked by Treants, and they are wearing down her troops. She wants us to accompany her to find the source. Since we aren't going to head out until morning, Abby, Mavinda, and I go to the hospital to help out however we can. I can't do much 'cept pry with them the best I can, but the other two did a lotta good with their healing abilities.

A few days into our journey we get attacked by four bushed. That moved. 'For I could even raise my crossbow, some of the others had them dead. They were Yupon bushes. Seemed regular except for the trying to kill us part. That same night, we were attacked by four azalia bushes. PUtting some clues together, it seems to me whatever is doing this seems to be a treant druid combo of sorts. That's a scary thought.

One of the nights, one of my friends heard giant footsteps during their watch. They faded though. Unsettling.
THe next day we got attacked by more treants and bushes. We took care of them, but then we found what was probably the source of those footsteps from the night before. It was huge. Looked something like a treant, only bigger, and it reminded me a bit of a ropper too. There was also a sapling and a regular treant. Arc killed the sapling which made the treant real mad. It made two more saplings appear. Everything happened so fast... I couldn't even keep tracka what was going on. Everyone was getting beat up real bad. A few of us went down. I told everyone we needed to get gone. Barg... sweet Barg got killed. Abby was captured by the ropper treant... he was telling everyone to keep going... No way in hell I was leaving without him. I yelled up to the thing to leave us be. Said I'd take my people and get outta here if they'd stop attacking us. Phindwillas said hell no, she wanted to kill it. It pained me, but my responsibility was to my people first. She was free to make her choices but I had to do anything it took to keep me and mine safe. I won't lose another family. 'Sides the thing still had a hold of Abby. I'd of done damn near anything to get him free. SO I said That's fine. I'd take MY people and go, and Phindwillas could stay behind if that's what she wanted. The monster dropped Abby and told us to get. IN the same motion, it picked up Phindwillas and ripped her right in half. It was quite the horror to behold. Between us, we roused everyone, except dear ol' Barg. He was gone even beyond Abby's capabilities. We're taking him with us though. By the Everlasting Flame, I'm going to find someone who can bring our friend back to us or die trying. We already lost us our wonderful Rankle. Barg can't be gone for good, he just can't. I wish I would of called for us to retreat earlier, maybe he'd still be with us. I should have insisted Phindwillas come with us. Shirriss needs her. Those are two regrets I'll carry with me always I expect.
