A Conversation with a Giant Dead Tree

by Never Nestknitter

Once we got to lookin at the dead tree monster, Arc realized he knew who it was. Asharneth, a druid, had visited Arc'd Master and they got to arguing. Asharneth said the master was committing crimes against nature. At the time, they were not a giant tree thing...

Abby reluctantly performed a spell that made it so we could talk to Asharneth. Turns out, talkin to a giant dead tree that used to be a druid, isn't that useful. I made a quarterstaff out of it's remains.

Rerae left us a note saying she had to think and was nowhere to be seen. I don't know why she couldn't do that in our inn. I guess she needed some alone time. I can respect that. Arc found her right away and she came back with him. She needs our help in Amborn, so of course we agreed.

On our way back to Ciendres, we stopped by Asharnath's glade and found that flame tongued long sword for Barg.

Once we reached Ciendres I sent off letters I had written to my siblings and the Merrymeads along with 50 platinum each.

Later, we all met up at the Golden Hearth to watch Barg flirt with his lady friend.

A big ol construct came in and most of us got paralyzed. HE's got a beef with Arc. Well good ol' Abby banished the thing, and we could all move again. We went outside and got ready to finish the fight. Well... most of us got paralyzed again. Not Barg though, he killed the thing. I bet that scored him some points with his lady.

The next day, Abby took a few of us to the temple so we could research things of interest to us. I looked up being chosen by the everlasting flame. There are stories of being chosen to do something. The burden of which comes at a price...

That night we got a surprise visitor. Turns out it was Abbys dad. He invited Abby to his mothers birthday celebration. Abby says he thinks they're going to be OK. That's just wonderful. HE also said he still feels like a kid around his family. I wonder if that's how it is for everyone who didn't lose their parents as a kid. ..
