We finally arrived at Hotlake for the evening after a long ride.
On the way there it seemed to remain overcast until about mid-day, after we've gotten sufficiently far away from the ruins. Whatever is happening in that area may warrant investigation at some point, but perhaps later.
Hotlake as a city itself seems to be bustling, seemingly revolving around tourism. The buildings in the main are bombastic, seeming to draw people in. Meanwhile, on the other side the buildings seem to be less flashy and more down to earth. That side is apparently run by the Taybot family, meanwhile the commerce and market area look to be run by the Bowens.
We arrived at a grand inn called the Heartfire Springs, seemingly run by the Bowens. We were greeted by Harper's sister who was working the front desk. The inn has hot springs, much as the name implies, with air full of moisture which was an interesting sensation. Once we arrived everyone dispersed to go about their business. I was content to relax and listen to the entertainment play while I had a good meal.
I will be very glad to be sleeping in a bed again after all this traveling.
