I think this would be easier on readers, to have one less page to load when trying to get to the manuscripts. Makes sense to me!
Really cool, especially with my first manuscript written it would be nice if it was easy to find for those who want to read it.
I think manuscripts should be the equal of maps and timelines, with an equivalent way to assign them to the front page. In terms of the layout, I'd probably like to see them below the timelines in a vertical column, like the maps but I don't have a strong view on this.
I could see this being an extremely helpful to those who use manuscripts, but I also think there should, at least, be a toggle to turn it off and on if people have their manuscripts already posted on their world.
This would be such a cool feature. I use the manuscripts heavily in my Novel Writing and would love to put the Novel related to the world on the homepage for people.
Manuscripts should certainly be included! Scripts are a nice way to show off your story and work to your followers, and as such, deserve just as much exposure as any other article for your world.
Manuscripts do feel somewhat disconnected from the rest of the world. It would be SUPER nice to have them more fully integrated and accessible. I know you can link characters and manuscripts, but if the 'script is visible as it's own thing, that is a way to get someone interested the story too so /then/ they can go down the rabbit hole of worldbuilding.
I fully agree. Tying the notifications to the worlds and giving the manuscripts space on the homepage would be great.
Yeah... manuscripts feel very disconnected. I would love for this to get merged in. I feel like doing this will just mesh well for authors exploring their own world.
It's already possible to manually embed manuscript covers with BB-code onto any page. I have a manuscript showcase on my world's homepage. You can find instructions for embedding in this guide: https://www.worldanvil.com/w/WorldAnvilCodex/a/manuscripts A dedicated feature for this could of course improve the experience for the author. And I suppose it would be nice to get more visual options for embedding (not only book covers but also textual links and whatever else).
This would be excellent, one of my main concerns about the manuscripts feature is how disconnected it feels from the rest of the world.
This would be great if we can choose which world to associate a manuscript
I would love to see this feature implemented. While it is possible to embed a manuscript into your world and articles, the arguments this suggestion makes are pointing out many more important aspects that are missing due to the strange disconnect between manuscripts and other world content.
This shounds logic to me, and since many authors want to show their works if they are made on WorldAnvil, why not on the homepage have a showcase?
I embedded a Link to the novel in my World Description page, exactly because of this. I, too, feel like manuscripts are tucked away into a corner. I get, that World Anvil is mainly for Lore, not for Stories, but the two of them don't have to be separate.
I second this request! The amount of people who could access a manuscript in my most followed world is literally double that of those who follow my author profile. By tieing it to the world as well, you may not only increase the likelihood of someone reading it, but you also promote it to the target audience, those who have actually shown interest in your the world.
