Variables

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Currently it only takes one click to delete a variable, with no confirmation. This makes it easy to delete something by accident. (Deleting variable categories still requires a second confirmation click, as do most deletions across the site.)

How does this feature request address the current situation?

I propose adding the second click to match the behavior of deleting other things like variable categories, article folders, articles, discussion board posts, etc.

What are other uses for this feature request?

I can't think of any. Mainly it just makes sure you don't accidentally delete something. Suggesting here as my bug report for this was closed with the implication it was a feature request, not a bug report.

Sounds like a great idea! I would think a bug with it not being present but I am in.

I agree that deleting a variable could be disastrous for a site. Having a confirmation would be a very good thing.

A confirmation would be helpful as without it, deleting a variable could seriously damage a world with a public presence, depending on how the variable is used.
