Add a Rumors feature modeled on Secrets

One useful aspect for storytelling in an RPG setting is the ability to introduce rumors of varying degrees of accuracy into gameplay. Rumors can hint at Secrets, trigger Plot, and accomplish a variety of other story telling functions. Currently, if a storyteller wants to keep track of rumors they put into gameplay they have two options that I can see: (1) Putting rumors into Secrets or (2) Putting rumors in the Story Seeds field for a particular article. While a useful work around, these solutions are ultimately unsatisfactory because adding rumors to either of these features dilutes the value of the underlying feature; i.e. adding a bunch of rumors to Secrets or Storytelling Seeds creates clutter within those lists. In addition, a rumor might be related to a Secret/Seed but not be entirely true/accurate, or might be totally random and/or completely false/inaccurate.   I propose the following feature/functionality, similar to the existing Secrets and/or Storytelling Seeds:   1. Create a Rumors feature. 2. Each Rumor should have a title ("The Rumor" itself). 3. Each Rumor should have descriptive text to explain what is true/accurate and false/inaccurate about the rumor. 4. Each Rumor should be able to link to/be associated with  another article - i.e. a Rumor should link to a Secret, Plot, Storyteller Seed, Location, Character, etc. 5. Each Rumor should be shareable with Player Characters through the Storyteller's Screen and/or through a Lore/Primer style feature/function. 6. Advanced functionality might include an accuracy thermometer based on the -5 to +5 scale included in Relationships, or even just a three option True/False/Partially True marker of some type.   This feature would allow GMs to track Rumors of varying accuracy that have been introduced into the game without creating confusion within Secrets or Seeds.

The Team's Response

Although I agree with Snake_Venom that this is perfectly possible and that the integration of tables in the DSTS will certainly make it possible, there is merit to the suggestion.   There are some questions in regards to the how to reveal it part since "Players' is a very arbitrary subset that will probably need to become "Subscriber group"   Also I understand and agree with the not from RedRavenGames in regards to the not one, but multiple articles as (further related reading) [One-to-many for the developers here]   This is accepted as is with small correction.     As a note, if you are not someone that is in any way actually interested into using a feature, please do not vote on it. You are skewing the actual results and REMOVING TIME from the things you ACTUALLY need done. I am a single developer, if you say YES to everything, then MOST will NOT be done ever due to the length of the list.
