The Shining Lake

The Shining Lake is a small lake near a grove of trees and a human settlement where almost twenty clans of sprites live. These clans sometimes engage in war with each other, with wealth and strength transferring from one clan to another as the years pass. Geopolitically there are few clans that can claim true superiority over the others for more than a decade, and alliances and confederacies are necessary to maintain traditions and sovereignty.

Fauna & Flora

Flora: One old willow tree (home of the Leafmen) Many flowers, including narcissus, tulips, dandelions, etc. No lily pads, but some of the area is swampy, making it hard to see underwater in those areas of the lake Some sturdy pines and other deciduous trees, and a large arbor of cherry trees and such nearby as well Crops cultivated by the humans Fauna: One massive snapping turtle Many squirrels, toads, frogs, fish, birds, etc. A family of pike Two blue herons A couple of groundhogs One black bear A cat owned by the humans who likes to hang around the lake

Natural Resources

Lots of wood; there is access to metal and stone, but they have to be carefully mined so as not to attract the attention of the humans The plentiful number of animals makes for a decent leather trade, and the flora allows for easy access to cloth
