The River Everblight
Long ago the legends say that a powerful Big Folk sorcerer caused the mountain of Ode Uden to erupt, and mixed with its lava was a dark sorcery that cursed the land where the lava flowed. To this day the land is cracked and hardened rock, with only the brave (and very few) flower attempting to grow there. The land emits a noxious and poisonous fume, and because of this the sprites refer to the lava as the Everblight for its cursed state.
The lava flowed through the lowlands before hardening, resulting in a long trail that is known as the River Everblight. It collected in three "pools" that have now hardened, and these are referred to as The Badlands and The Forsaken Lands north of the Shining Lake, and The Forsaken Lands to the south of the Shining Lake. Almost no clans live in the Everblight save the wraiths, skeletons, and zombies of The Forasken. The gobsken raiders of Morgaleth are known to camp on it on warmer nights, but otherwise most of the sprites will only touch Everblight if trade or troop deployments require it.
The Chokagu gremlin clan is protected on three sides by the Everblight, and thus their tunnel network went undisturbed for decades as they burrowed to the other settlements. This makes assaulting them virtually impossible, as their tunnel network is cunningly made to keep intruders from reaching their colony.
