Nympharum of Unternon

The Nympharum of Unternon are a clan of Sundancer Sprite (Pixi) known for their strict legal code. Ruled by the High Queen Honoria Virtus, the pixies have competed with the wisps of Mon Elier for years in trade with the other races around The Shining Lake, as they both tend to trade in cloth and magical knowledge. Queen Honoria is also unmarried, and it is common for dignitaries and rulers to bring both potential suitors as well as requests of the Nympharum.
Word has spread of illegal gladiatorial games near Unternon, and the High Queen is desirous to put an end to such wretched violence. There is room for adventurers here who could investigate the dealings of those around town to find where the games are occurring. The pixies also have a limited military, and word is that they are looking for trained escorts for their trade caravans both on the lake and along the roads to local villages.

Common Dress code

Pixies tend to dress very well, in part due to their abundant access to good cloth, but also because they tend to prefer beauty over protection, relying on speed and evasion over armor. Wearing armor around town is generally frowned upon, unless it is made of cloth. The exception to this are licensed guards and persons on the business of the High Queen (most notably the Praetorians).

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Airy places, light things, delicate and soft things, smooth things. This has led to a general lack of leather items, with anti-magic warriors and warrioresses tending to favor cloth and metal items enchanted to protect the bearer from magical damage.

Gender Ideals

Magic is highly prized among both genders, though the strongest mages are generally female. Physical and mental agility are highly prized in both genders, with acts of strength being virtually nothing in this culture. The exception to this is in construction: those who can build beautiful structures are highly revered among their people.

Courtship Ideals

As an ordered culture, the Nympharum have complex rules for courtship and marriage. The couple must attend festivals, be seen together in public, be examined by the scholars of the Nympharum Arcanum, and legally apply for the rights to marry another person. Typical courtship time takes a little over a year.
