Sildran Mountains
The Sildran Mountains or more simply the mountains is a large mountain range running north to south through the center of the island of Sildra. It nearly cuts the island into two as it stretches from the northern coast to the southern one. It lies entirety within the borders of the Kingdom of Sildra-Tor and thus is controlled exclusively by them. It is most well known by the locals for having huge hot springs running through out it.
Geography
The mountains rise sharply from the ground below them to form tall spires of stone. Many small valleys run throughout the center of the mountains. The foothills for the mountains run for several miles from the base of the mountains with the terrain of them being extremely varied in nature ranging from forested cliffs to slow-rising bare hills.
Natural Resources
The foothills for the mountains contain several forests full of lumber as well as wildlife. The mountains themselves can be used for its great deposits of stone and also contains many different deposits of minerals including iron, copper, nickel, and gold. The mountains also contains many small streams, ponds, creeks, and hot springs as well as several rivers flowing down from them that contain freshwater.
History
The mountains are thought to have been created at the same time as the island of Sildra by the god Tarsen during the time of great creation. It was first discovered by the High Elves that made their way to the island during their great migration from the mainland of Zalas. It has been used as a source of resources by the local populace ever since its discovery.
