Repenian

Repenian is both the largest and smallest ethnicity in Wyrth. This is due in large part to the nature of categorization. As with all aspects of a Skepsologist's work, there is a complexity to the way in which they split the ethnicities.   For example, both Túlok and Dumylan peoples speak the same language. Similarly, there are people that would still be classified as "Dumylan" people , though they acknowledge and revere the Lords of Lách Doire - an Aberian faith. This is because the key distinction between Abian and Dumylan is the worship of the Dumylan gods. Most Skepsologists actually consider Abian to be a larger classification, under which you find the Dumylan people, as well as the Túlok - more colloquially known as the people of the Aberian Nomads.   In the same way, the Repenian culture is built on one key feature: the Aristocracy. For that reason, much of the settled world would be considered Repenian. The Kalastradi Monarchy, Astozian Duchy, and Cervoyan Diarchy are now centuries into their Aristocratic periods. Uirsgeul was settled by a collaboration of various groups from Olíga for the express purpose of being a country solely dedicated to the ways of the Repenian culture. That said, the birthplace of the Repenians is Cervoya and the leader of the Peoples' Union, Michel de Laurent. As part of his push to dethrone the Bretonic Monarchy, de Laurent used Common - something the Bretonians had developed and tried to get other nations to implement for decades - and used it to rally many peoples of differing background together to overthrow or reform the standing government. When other nations began to also adapt the Aristocatic Oligarchy (among other things), Repenian culture began to take hold. However, due its nature as a young culture, rooted in an ideal and form of government, it lacks concentrated members. For the majority, Repenian is an add-on to their more well established culture.   Another defining feature of the Repenian culture is the push for progress and world-unification. Though this occasionally comes off as a disrespect for history and other cultures and traditions, as well as a superiority complex, for the majority of Repenians, this isn't the case. This is due in large part to the fact that the majority of proper Repenians - those that don't claim another culture except Repenian - tend to be people that are ungrounded or lack a familial history on which to draw. As a result, they search for ways in which the old can be improved, or desperate peoples brought together. This can be seen in things like the Standardization of World Commerce, which sought to make trade between nations a simpler task.
