Plot armour
The character had to die and didn't!!111!1!But personal opinions aside, Plot Armour is a very...controversial thing. You don't have to make your characters suffer all the time - in fact, you probably shouldn't - but you still want a good dose of loss and misery to keep your characters from being perfect, a trait no one will relate to
And hey, I get it, you want readers to think your characters are cool - we all do! I want my readers to admire my MCs when they do something great, but I also want them to feel their pain when something bad happens, and if there's too much plot armour in there, it just won't be possible
- When the character falls to their certain death but are rescued by something/someone that hasn't been previously established, i.e a spell that just so happens to have the properties needed
- When the villain has such a terrible aim
- Your characters casually remember something that greatly shifts the odds in their favour

This was a good "point out" to make for other creators! Well done! I for one is very guilty of this in my early work but with time one is able to make the correct foreshadowing for things to make sense in a "not-too-plot-armouring" way. Keep up the author's guide and the good work!

Aww, thanks so much! I myself have given my characters a bit too much plot armour in the past, so I always try to be careful with it, haha
