Kuri is a close friend of Taskin and Kevian, and a mage who is skilled at wards and protective spells. She is married to Gefin. They become familiar with Luthien Seawolf and the rest of Taskin's cohort as they pass in and out of the college.

Kuri comes from a family of mages, but she is an only child and her parents died when she was young, and she went to live with her aunt and uncle. She attended the same primary school as her cousins, and showed great aptitude for magic, earning a scholarship to Mythlight College of Magics. At MYCOM, she excelled, but was in particular first in her class for protective spells and wards.
Her final year at school was Gefin Stormfall's first. They met, fell in love, and got married. Kuri accepted a job as an assistant professor at the college so she could stay close while Gefin finished his studies, and then they started doing work together for those who needed or wanted extra protection.

Kuri prefers men, though it's not a hard and fast rule and she's had flings with the occasional woman. She and Gefin are polyamorous, and have relationships and flings of various configurations outside of their marriage.

Kuri attended an excellent primary school and then MYCOM on scholarship. She has had the best education the Empire's money can buy.

After graduating, Kuri spent some time as a teacher and then she her husband started a business together working together in private defense and consulting about such.
