Mythlight College of Magics
One of the Empire's top Universities, Mythlight College of Magics (or Mycom, as it is fondly and informally known) caters almost exclusively to magic-users. Eschiens come from all over the Empire and beyond to study magic at the university, usually in hopes of getting a prestigious placing after school and raising their own status or that of their family.
Structure
Like any establishment in the Empire, Mycom ultimately answers to the Emphir. However, on a day-to-day basis, the college is run by its faculty and staff. And before the Emphir ever gets involved, the fate of the college is controlled by a board that is populated with notable alumni, members of the nobility, and esteemed faculty.
Culture
Like any college or university, Mycom is a place of exploration and social change for its students. However, this is definitely an Eschien University: there are strong, unbending traditions and expectations for student behavior and the curriculum and methods of teaching are, to some extent, controlled by the Emphir.
Public Agenda
Mycom's public agenda is to educate the best, most powerful, and most innovative mages in the Empire. With the exception of many of the best ship-mages, who are trained in Free Territory of Galanthis, most of anyone who is anyone with magic ability in the Empire is Mycom-educated. They are also a center of magical research for the Empire.
Assets
Mycom alumni are wealthy - and generous. The college and its students want for nothing. Buildings are well maintained, classrooms are funded, students have the newest and best of everything. Scholarships are funded for students whose families are not well-off. Those who wish to employ Mycom graduates donate and pay handsomely for the privilege of being the ones on campus to recruit and names pushed to promising students.
Term of Study
Most MYCOM students are pupils for four to six years. Some stay longer to do research or apprentice to specific mages to continue learning.Magic the Empire's Way
One very peculiar or notable thing that sets the Empire apart from Delryn and the rest of the civilized world is their approach to magic. Empire-trained mages tend to be by-the-book, regimented, and segmented in their skills. They use a lot of physical manipulatives, rigid chantings and recipes, and the like to channel their magic. The results can be powerful, but it tends to limit creativity and spur-of-the-moment spellcasting. It does make it easier for the Empire's mages to work together on big projects.Notable Locations at MYCOM

The Hall of Dreams, as it has come to be known, is a wonderland of half-finished as well as abandoned big and small concept magical inventions and creations. A virtual labyrinth of rooms and halls, the entire building is shielded to protect the outside world from anything that might go wrong.
Basil's Gardens
Greenhouses where they grow every conceivable plant and fungi needed for spells and potions - from the common to the most rare.
