Desily Treethistle is the head curator of the archives at the Mythlight College of Magics's famous library. She is known to be secretive, standoffish, and hard to please. Outside of her working relationships with some of her colleagues, and the occasional student she takes an interest in, nobody really knows much about her.
Desily, though masquarading as a human in The Brilliant Empire, is a actually a member of The Folk. Like most of the Folk, she hides her true identity, especially as she's living in the Empire, where they are often quite xenophobic.

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Desily appears, to most, to be a spry old lady. Despite her wrinkles, her declared age of 78 or thereabouts isn't, realtively, that old for the people of the world she lives in, so nobody questions the ease with which she gets around.
Identifying Characteristics
Desily appears to most to be very short, about four and a half feet. She has piercing green eyes and gray hair, and her skin appears tanned despite the fact that most would claim she never leaves the library. Her skin is wrinkled and lined, beyond what quite makes sense for her years. Sometimes her students joke that her wrinkles hold all her secrets.
In her True form, Desily's most distinguishing feature is her gossamer dragonfly-like wings. She also has antenna, pointed ears, long mobile eyebrows, and slitted pupils. Her skin color remains a tanned brown and her eyes stay green. She loses a couple more inches, but she'll never admit it.

Desily has very good control over her disguise form, and it rarely slips; when it does, it is most often her eyes, and it happens when she experiences strong emotions - including curiosity.
Special abilities
Desily, like most of her people, is an incredibly strong mage. Also like most of her people, the trade off is some nearly debilitating weaknesses or frailnesses. For Desily, there are two. The first is intermittent, powerful headaches. The second is brittle bones. She is very careful not to get injured, and the brittle bones are part of why she rarely travels, preferring that others come to her.

Employment
Desily is employed by Mycom, and has been as long as anyone can remember. In fact, she has served through multiple Deans of the College, and none of them remember who hired her or why - and if they think about asking about it, or checking her contract, they seem to get distracted and disinterested before they finish their task. So, Desily stays employed, and nobody seems to stay suspicious for very long. It helps that she's good at her job - the academics of the college always seem to have all the texts they could possibly need, and more.

The Archivist is well-known for being tactiturn and not very talktative. When she does take an interest in something she is intense, and focused. With those she likes to speak to, she often speaks in riddles or other roundabout ways.

Kevian was able to finally make Desily's acquantaince through the help of Taskin Dal. Desily is fascinated with Taskin, and was willing to help Kevian in order to get the opportunity to grill Taskin about his people. She has since come to be fairly fond of both of them, though Kevian still doesn't fully trust her and Taskin finds her baffling.
Wealth & Financial state
Desily draws a salary from the MYCOM Library for her work as Head Archivist - but seems to also have an endless fund for new volumes, and plenty of interesting knick-knacks besides. Those very rare few who have been inside her home report that it's as crowded as her office - but with things, instead of books.

Desily's Domain
Desily's domain is the entire library, in particular the archives, but most specifically her office tucked away deep in the archives. Desily's office is floor to ceiling books, and stacks of books, with a single desk in the middle and two rickety old chairs. The bookshelves go on past the entryway - maybe forever.
