Duskscape Regent
Masters of the Wyrm, The Gods of the Duskscape

The Duskscape Regents are the gods of the Duskscape: the Sleeping mirror of Waking Materia. As such, they are gods of conceptual, philosophical and metaphysical properties, as opposed to Material. The Regents are, in an abstract sense, the opposite of the Material Gods. They are known by many names, including the Fomoraigh, the Kagamikami, the Cenobites, the Elder Conceptuals and more.
One is said to be able to detect a divine being by perceiving their "Halation": reality is said to warp strangely about their heads, but in a way that we can only see out of the corner of our eyes.Worship
Waking cultures are worshippers of the Material Gods first and foremost. In most societies worship of the Regents is frowned upon at best and the subject of brutal inquisitions at worst (with the occasional exception of the god of death and command core of the The Valkyries, Overshepherd Rom). Indeed, the Regents are largely alien beings with often mysterious or outright unknowable motivations, so worshippers must do so with extreme caution. Such alien moralities rarely share the interests of Waking Materians and therefore cannot be considered "good", with the arguable exception of the Regent of Nostalgia and Convalescence, Auron Surai.Confusion
"Duskscape Regent" is not a coherent or well-defined term for a number of reasons. Some of Waking Materia's Ascendant gods appear to be patrons of conceptual purviews rather that material ones, and yet they are not Duskscape natives. In the reverse sense, some Regents live primarily in the Shadow Realm, but are originally from planes even beyond Materia and its dark mirror. Finally, there is no clear distinction between the Regents and particularly powerful but lesser-known Conceptuals, which itself is a poorly-defined supergroup of umbral beings.A mocking political cartoon, printed in the demonic city of Kloster Storkenfels.
