People's Liberation Front
People's Liberation Front is an oddity. An organization that shouldn't be born, an organization connecting groups that in the past violently opposed each other, united through a charisma and a vision of a single man. An organization that was strong enough to threaten the US Government during the First Villain War, only to be eventually defeated and scattered.
Today it remains a shadow of its former self, with the remaining hard-liners joining the VIllain Alliance of America in order to get a re-match for their past defeat. Thus far, extremely successfully.
Structure
People's Liberation Front was born as a joint armed arm of three radical (if still legal) political parties: the conservative libertarians of the Freedom Party, the neosocialists and communists of the Socialist Party and the fascist and militarists of the Fascist Party. All three groups supplied it with their more 'radicalized' followers, money and training facilities, while running a successful political and medial masquerade in order to keep its existence hidden.
By the time the First Villain War started, PLF numbered up to four hundred thousand trained henchmen and several hundred of Villain Lieutenants of considerable skill, capable of going toe-to-toe with most compotent of heroes. When the war started, it was further boosted by defectors from the US Army and the Hero Association.
While eventually defeated and scattered, a lot of its assets remained behind. Its remnants split between the three contributing parties (now illegal), with a number of its members deciding to remain true to Destro's ideal and maintaining the existence of the People's Liberation Front and its original goal. Today they become one of the subsidiary groups of the VIllain Alliance of America.
The remaining PLF forces are considered to be the most loyal to Revenant out of all subsidiary groups, forming the core of the organization and being further bolstered by their former members saved during the Liberation Festival. There are also talks about potential reunification between them and the three former member-parties.
Public Agenda
The goal of the PLF is to change the United States into a federation of lesser countries, allowed a much wider reign in terms of their internal politics, for as long as a free movement of population would be upheld, with the prerogatives of the federal government limited to the external border security, foreign diplomacy and army. This stance allowed Destro to unite political radicals of almost all stripes, offering each time a chance to establish their dream political systems while remaining a part of the United States of America.
Assets
It is believed that they retain a large number of informants in the lower ranks of the US Government, despite the FBI's earnest attempts to uproot it during and after the First Villain War.
History
PLF was organized in secret by Destro following his decision that the current political system of the United States is evolving towards what he perceived as a crawling tyranny. The result of that was Destro leaving the Senate, and theoretically leaving the Freedom Party to his right hand woman, Demagogue.
During the next three years, Destro managed to strike certain degree of an agreement with the leaders of Socialist and Fascist Party (a feat of democracy, if there ever was any), both of which were increasingly adverse to the tightening of the government's surveillance and limitations of freedom (or, in the case of Fascists, to the fact that they weren't the ones to do it). The result of it was the birth of the PLF, and a start of hard work of putting the likely minded fellows in critical positions of the US Government.
PLF eventually rose in arms following failed coup of the Freedom Party, which resulted in Just Cause's arrest and the PLF-aligned senators and congressmen fleeing the capital and establishing a second government of the United States in the territories now seized by the People's Liberation Front. The PLF' run government was mostly destroyed following the nuking of its headquarters.
The rest of the PLF went through a grinder, mostly collapsed as an organization in the aftermath of the end of the First Villain War. The remaining hard-liners were mostly swayed and recruited by Revenant during his preparations for the Second Villain War.
