Destro

A US Senator turned supervillain, Destro saw the country's increasingly draconic security measures (caused primarily by Archvile's neverending rampages) and saw a buddling totalitarian regime, where all manner of liberty was going to be inevitably sacrificed on the altar of security. As a result, he began to prepare for that.
He used his charisma, contacts and money to establish a conspiracy at the highest ranks of the US Government AND his own armed force, the People's Liberation Front. When he was ready, he struck. When his coup d'etat was foiled, he immediately opted for a full-blown civil war, starting the Second American Civil War (or, as it's known today, the First Villain War.
While he succeeded in defeating the US Government forces, he was eventually killed when he succeeded in making the president panic too much, resulting in the PLF' headquarters destroyed with a nuke, dying as a result.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Tall and muscular. While he lacked 'proper' combat training, his individuality alone made him an extremely dangerous combatant - in fact, he is one of the scarce few people that fought Invincible and managed to get away.

Special abilities

His individuality was called Hyperadrenaline. When injured or stressed, his body responded to it by generating a large number of alien compounds that pushed itself into an overdrive, allowing him to reach superhuman levels of speed, strength and endurance. At the highest release level, he was capable of surviving blows capable of levelling skyscrapers or a freefall from a plane at an altitude counted in several kilometres. His individuality also gave him a healing factor, allowing him to regenerate lost limbs or survive otherwise killing blows.
Its activation was recognizable mostly by the virtue of Destro's skin going black with visible red veins on his skin. The bigger part of his body was overtaken by this coloration, the more of it was active. However, maintaining a high output level for a longer periods of time threatened his own health.

Apparel & Accessories

He tended to wear business suits for most of the time, typically gray ones. It was the closest thing he had to a villain outfit as well.

Personal history

Destro started his career by being elected into the Senate of the United States from one of the Reclaimed States. It was about that time when the individualities began, Destro promptly awakening his own. He kept it hidden from the world, at least partially in fear of alienation of his own voting base, using his influence as a senator to deter any investigations into his supposed superpower.
He grew increasingly dissatisfied with the state of affairs within the country as he saw the security measures grow increasingly radical, all in order to counter the growing tide of villainy (in big part caused by Archvile being there). When he decided that his attempts to stem that through political activism are leading nowhere, he decided to do things the hard way.
He used his popularity, fame, influence and connections to began assembling what was later on going to become a People's Liberation Front. He struck an alliance with various dissatisfied groups throughout the country, ranging from those of the far right (angered by governmental suppression of gun laws over them making it relatively easy for villains to equip their henchmen) to those of the far left (angered by the former Western United States treated as something close to a prison colony).
When he was ready, he launched a coup under the banner of his Freedom Party. When it failed, he immediately opted for a full-blown revolution, this time as the head of the People's Liberation Front proper. The goal of it was overthrowing the US Federal Government and changing the country into a confederation of semi-independent states, where every state government would be allowed to a total freedom in shaping its own laws - thus allowing all groups on the political spectrum to establish their own variants of the American Dream on their own, while still being a part of the United States.
PLF was successful in defeating the heroes and the US Army during several major engagements. However, the presence of Archvile and his connections to the Front's leadership - the man basically the boogeyman of the government as a whole at this point - led to the government panicking and throwing a nuke on Destro's headquarters, leading to the collapse of the People's Liberation Front, its members either arrested or, eventually, joining its successor, the Villain Alliance of America

Mental Trauma

His wife dying while giving birth to his daughter become something of a long-standing mental trauma, especially as his daughter was born blind and of extremely weak constitution. He continued to dote on her her whole life. His attempts to stop the United States from declining into totalitarianism were also motivated mostly by wanting to leave the world a bit better for his daughter once he would inevitably pass on.

Intellectual Characteristics

Charismatic and highly intelligent, enough to be considered to be one of the world's greatest villainous masterminds. His skills were mostly focused on organizational work, allowing him to organize and lead a major conspiracy (one including many congressmen and senators, not to mention military officers and a significant part of both FBI and CIA and many heroes) in a way that allowed it to avoid detection until it was too late to stop it.

Morality & Philosophy

Destro was motivated solely by his goal of leaving the world a better place for his daughter, Onslaught. She was his external conscience and a walking morality measurement - he repeatedly refused to partake in things that would (in his perception) make her angry at him. His goal, after all, was to make a better world - and no monster can leave the world in a better state.

Strengths

An extremely powerful melee combatant with an individuality to match. Also a sort of a genius bruiser, in that aside from that, he was also one of the greatest villainous masterminds in history.

Weaknesses

His love for his daughter allowed Archvile to manipulate him into an alliance that eventually proved to be his undoing. He also ended up missing out on several opportunities due to having way too much moral qualms for a supervillain, or because spending time with his daughter was more important to him than a meeting or two.
