Mankind survived many things during the past centuries. Yellowstone Supervolcano eruption and resulting volcanic winter. Multiple pandemics resulting from humans worldwide weakened by starvation and the governments too weak to respond to the spread of new viruses or bacteria properly. Wars - including the Third World War, once again supposed to end all wars.   Then something flew through the Solar System, driving astronomers worldwide into madness... and soon after that, people began to manifest superpowers. This is now world of superheroes and supervillains - and whether it will survive that fact remains to be seen.
