Battle of Voidcape

The battle of Voidcape at the end of the Purging of the Mire. Raviwrar had through the purge gathered a seemingly endless horde of various undead as well as thirteen other undead dragons. In response and thanks to a warning from Grunkle's Angels, the Greatwyrm's mounted a massive defensive effort.

Preperation

Jindrai arrived with his army of around a thousand soldiers first. They started building barricades as a defensible perimeter as grunkle's Angels showed up along with Raelgil Sepa. The events of Prelude to the battle of Voicape happen, resulting in a lot of the women and children fleeing with a few hundred sailors, pirates, and citizens staying. In preparation for the battle, platforms with heavy bows were built as were large nets. Throughout this process, most of the other greatwyrms showed up, Iti bringing 20 purple knights with her, with only Zezhuanth being absent. Zumil was also summoned by Lokz in this period to help in the fight.

Opening assault

As the undead showed up on the horizon, everyone rushed to their positions, the greatwyrms turning into their natural forms and taking to the air, Girliorth ripping straight through an undead dragon in the process. Zumil started hurling firebolts into the undead to slow them down. The barricade held with the opening assault with Yogi ensuring nowhere got overwhelmed, using his lighting (via a pelvic thrust) to destroy the undead in any area looking weak, allowing it to be reinforced.

Draconic Toll

Though the ground battle was completely under control, the aerial battle was more chaotic and in flux. Raelgil Sepa, Jindrai, and Girliorth seemed to be winning against Raviwra, and the uneven battle on the other greatwyrms started to take it's toll. Though several of the undead dragons fell in this time, the injuries to Lyzzaru became too great, causing her to crash into the gem sea. As an undead dragon followed her to attack a few remaining citizens, Darr, with the help of Lokz's magic, leaped up to Girliorth's height, yelling a warning as he flew. Girliorth then catapulted Darr into the spin of the dragon, breaking both wing joints and crashing both into the ground. Grunkel's angels detached to aid their comrade, killing it before rushing back to rejoin the battle. Chiko decided to long shot into the air, to aid the greatwyrms, Killing an undead dragon, and even Zumil rose up to join the aerial fight. Even with these additions, the injuries started mounting with Zeldrur going down followed by Zumontiarth. Though most of the undead dragons were taken out.

Metis

Throughout the battle László had been healing the front line as best he could, helping plug gaps and keeping the front line whole. As the battle reached its second hour, however, Siren's Doom smashed through the coastal bank. Seeing his prey arrive, Girliorth attacked the ship, smashing it instantly. László charged forward to confront the Lich, absorbing a killing spell as he went. With help from Girliorth, László was able to land the killing blow, sending the lich back to his phylactery. This distraction, however, was enough for the undead to break through several points of the barricade, forcing the front line back.

Turning of the tide

With the battle on the ground turning, László, Chiko, and Yogi organized countercharges to try and pull the gaps forming. Simultaneously, Lokz launched his spells at Raviwrar, bombarding his flank and rear, disrupting his flight enough for Zumil to grab hold and plug the final barricade breach with the greatwyrm's body. Darr and Lokz continued the assault while Zumil kept him down, allowing the remaining greatwyrms to turn their attention to the remaining undead dragons and Raelgil to bring his healing to the troops. Though these counterattacks made ground the men were tired and it was becoming increasingly clear that the battle was starting to be lost.

Sun's wraith

As the counterattacks slowed Miodulth sent a psychic message for everyone to cover their eyes, as a searing light burst down from the heavens onto the undead. Zezhuanth finally arrived at the battle, sending the living scattering for cover, Zumil protecting the exposed Darr, being burnt in the process. The destruction wrought ended the battle, giving those even moderately close by burns and blinding anyone who didn't shield their eyes fast enough, Zezhuanth was gone as quickly as he arrived.

Aftermath

Raviwrar and his undead horde were wiped out, and Metis, who was Tralden, was also back in his prison. Though the living had won it had come at a cost, with Lyzzaru, Zeldrur, and Zumontiarth all critically injured. Even Vighoi, Zisephaynth, and Vupeiss were badly enough injured that they wouldn't be able to join the growing conflict in the north. Most of the other greatwyrms were also injured and the silver knights had also lost around three hundred men.   Voidcape had been wiped off the map, turned into barren bedrock for three miles around the town where the mire used to be. The border of this new desert with the mire was littered with the horror of what the mire was, featureless bodies of the long dead.
