Cattharn

This document is not set in stone. Things may change between now and the party's arrival in Cattharn.

Written by Lahtori

Named after the original spelling of Cattharn Ridge, the capital is home to all. The capital is not small in size, having multiple districts and stretching far into the plains with smaller residences and shops. It is the primary location for trade and therefore is home to embassies of other regions and races. It is common to see non-Tabaxi in Cattharn.   Population: 800,000

Districts

Market District

Shops of all sizes line the streets of this district. The Market District is the center of all commerce for Cattharn and for all of Catthorn Ridge. The streets are always on the move, with thousands of customers and hundreds of merchants from all the tribes and neighboring nations buying, selling, trading.   The Market District also offers various taverns and inns, for the traveling merchant, tourist, or adventurer. Each offering their own services and each at various ends of the cost spectrum.

Worker's District

Skilled craftsmen's workshops are found in this district. Much smaller than the Market District, quality goods and services can be found here. While most of the goods are moved and sold through the Market District, it is possible to purchase straight from the source. These workshops also supply the necessary materials and weapons to the Catthorn soldiers.

Scholar District

Despite L'Academie being located in Tigressia, Cattharn offers a much smaller branch school of the arcane, located right in this relatively small sized Scholar District. The main attraction in this particular area is L'école de Vie - the largest educational center of the kingdom. This school is privately owned and run by "Les Historiens". It is said infinite knowledge lies in the books of the school's library (or at least, significant knowledge that the wealthy send their children to learn there).

Garden District

To get to Cattharn Castle, one must first venture through the Garden District. The smallest district by far, it still stretches long, separating the Castle from the Upper Residential District and the Market District. The grounds are kept freshly manicured by the Lion tribe, specifically the families who specialize in the growth of flowers. Each month, the garden beds are redone to showcase a new kind of flower.   Due to the religious nature of the Lions, the Cattharn High Church is found in the Garden District.

Cattharn Castle

Overlooking the capital, towers spiraling high into the sky, giving view of the beautiful gardens below, Cattharn Castle sits just off-center of the entire capital. The castle gates remain closed except when court is in session. It is also likely that the castle is opened to the public during festivals and the occasional ball. By far, the castle is heavily guarded, day and night.

Upper Residential District

This district is home to those who are wealthy in status. Here the houses are allocated a plot of land with room for gardens. The homes themselves are lavish, the biggest reaching three or four floors in height. Each home is fenced and gated, ensuring the privacy of the residents. Cattharn soldiers patrol the streets without rest - it is impossible to walk down the street without a soldier keeping watch. Many of the residents themselves have hired person guards that stay stationed at their gates - for added security.

Lower Residential District

The majority of capital residents live in this ginormous residential district. The houses almost appear to be stacked one upon the other, leaving little room to navigate between them. Despite its rather suffocating appearance, the homes are kept orderly and clean.

The Barracks

Cattharn offers its own soldiers housing and training grounds in The Barracks.
