The Venandi

A secretive group of highly skilled individuals. Their name pops up occasionally throughout history, in unexpected places. The following information is what the Sworn Seven have gathered about this organization. Note that this information is incomplete and may be entirely incorrect. Treat the Venandi and all that is known about with caution. Do not plan to confront them alone, else plan and prepare thoroughly.

The Venandi wear a uniform of black with silver inlay. This uniform has the ability to dampen magical effects, absorbing the spells into its cloth.

Structure

The leader of the Venandi is a human man known as The Two-Ringed Man. His real name remains unknown. This very man has been captain of the Catthorn Ridge Royal Guard for as long as Elisa Denner can remember.
It is believed the members of this organization operate in pairs of two that compliment each other. One may wield magic while the other excels in physical combat.

Leader

"The Two-Ringed Man"

He is the grandson to the current reigning Emperor of Birgantia. (The Emperor's name is Palovia Eldritch.) He is described as an interesting child, for when he was born he did not scream. His father believed he would be great ruler one day, being very talented. He spent his childhood reading foreign and banned books and would kill cats in the street. At fourteen, he approached the Emperor, his grandfather, with the head of his father in his left hand and the head of his mother in his right hand. He called himself unfit to be ruler, but did wish for one thing. Anonymity. It is clear this man is focused and determined, and while he does not have the same moral highground as most of us, he strives to accomplish what he wants. In exchange for anynomity, he was exiled from Brigantia, never to return.
In his time, word of his exploits have returned to his grandfather. He once murdered and completely destroyed a port town in a country north of here. 1000 souls at the bottom of the sea to guard their port against fish. When he learned of the 2nd Denner/Dorian ring, that it was in the hands of a foreign dignitary, he razed the entire kingdom in a day. An entire subcontinent lost.
The Venandi fully believe he is capable of wielding and using more than three of the Denner/Archmagis Rings. He is believed to be in the possession the Rage v. Clarity ring, in which he can bend the truth. (Elisa sees him as a bald Human man, with a beard. Her mother sees him as a Tabaxi with white hair. Her father sees him as a Half-Elf.) Of the other two rings in play, it is possible he has the Pride v. Determination ring, gifting him with unique concentration and ego.
He is dead, as is the majority of the members that make up the Venandi.

Known members

Blind Man

Blond. Blind. Uses strange disk like weapons with immense speed. He can "see" everything, including Gods. He can also see the Archmagis, stuck in her pocket frozen universe, standing next to Elisa. He is incredibly quiet, his footsteps impossible to hear.

Dead Members

Kat Sinnik

Little is known about this member of the Venandi. She has been described by Voltin in the past and is known to have high stamina, being able to chase a wolf for six miles. She has long red hair and her eyes betray her insanity.
Abilities

• She is able to change her shape, form, and visage to that of anyone.
• Along with changing her physical appearance, she also gains the advantages of the race she transforms into. (Maybe)
• Uses daggers.

Nicolas Kepash

Sickly. Old. Thin. Gaunt-looking man. He is an escapee from an insane asylum, from Brigantia itself. He can share his own vitality with others due to his cursed bloodline. However, he cannot choose who he shares his vitality with. In recent years, he has developed a sense of how to properly channel it.

According to my mother, this man is a healer. Seemingly of magical capability, he can heal those within a close proximity to him. He also carries plenty of potions as well. -Elisa

Anastasia Rimhault

Long blond and white hair that reaches to her knees. She holds a decorative blade, with which she is known as the best blade master of the world. She is also a mage, specializing in sleep, binding, and sealing magic. She is superstitious and does not enjoy being in the same room as Kat.
She was once a princess of a faraway cold continent. She murdered her entire family.

She was able to affect me, hundreds of miles away, through a projection of myself. I worry the most about her power. -Elisa

Lilliana Karbowska

She wears a scarf around her neck and has fur lining the inside of her cloak. Her cloak extends to her boots, almost like a winter cloak, like she is cold.
Is a powerful mage who uses a one of a kind rifle. The rifle was in production in Brigantia, however the engineer was killed and his files destroyed. The rifle is far from perfected, but she is capable of using it and reloading it with magic.
It is said anything that falls into her hands is found in pieces. She is likely able to reverse engineer tech.

She mentioned something about drugs...? That they seeing my projected body was not because of the drugs? -Elisa

The Emperor stated something about changing shape, of channeling beast-like qualities. This sounds like what druids can do. -Elisa

Pekosh & Poff

Hobgoblin and Goblin duo. They can turn stone pillars into dust with their bare hands.
The Hobgoblin is the one who holds all the strength, the Goblin serving only as a cheersquad who can take bullet fire without getting hurt. They seem to have a strange liking to titles. They once killed a baker and assumed the title "the Baker".

They seem to have a thing for Dave. Said they want to rend him limb from limb and take on the name of "the Lumberjack". -Elisa

Baldir Ifrin

Dragonborn, incredibly tall, has wings. Not the smartest, but definitely beefy and powerful. Commands small armies of Kobolds.

Ame / Akane

A magician claiming to be from the faraway island of Himo. 5'10" and wore clothes that hid her Venandi identity including a straw hat and an extra cloak.

Abilities

• She claims to wield no physical weapons.
• In combat she cloaks herself in invisibility and focuses on area/environment manipulation to allow her companion, Katsu, to fight effectively and to disorient her enemies.
• She can also teleport an individual to her, rending the target immune to harm during the process.

She is suspected to be dead. As she drew her last breath her body and supplies immolated, leaving no trace.

Arm yourself with True Sight. - Orpheus

Koshiru Katsura

An aged swordsman who travels alongside Ame. He does not speak common, nor the other languages of our land well, believing them inferior to his native tongue - the language of Himo. It is clear he does not enjoy the presence of other non-Himo/non-Venandi individuals, and has a deep running hatred for beast races.

Wears a straw hat, has brown bandages wrapped around his hand, and wields a 6 foot long blade known as a katana.

Abilities

• To the naked eye his sword as well as his strikes can appear invisible, due to the speed of his strikes. However, those with true sight can discern his sword is actually a multitude of blades protruding from various points of the blade.
• He is able to hit large areas with a single strike.
• His stance widens as time passes on, and once fully ready, he can perform a dashing attack that strikes in an area of effect.
• He reacts quick to approaches, striking vitals such as the Achilles' Heel to prevent further movement.
• While his individual strikes may not seem harmful, moving after receiving a multitude of cuts can cause the wounds to open further.

Arm yourself with True Sight. Might be able to prevent the wounds from opening further by healing them before moving? - Orpheus

Unknown Tabaxi

Pure white fur, female Tabaxi of unknown tribe. Was assigned to work with Katsu. Not much is known about her or what her skills were. She died alongside Katsu in the Brigantia Capital Arena.

Secure the five rings of Catthorn Ridge and remove the Denner family from the playing board.

Hinted Agenda

Amass power (in the form of the rings and other Dorian artifacts) to liberate their own homeland - Himo - from the Emperor.

History

It is known that the Venandi played a role in the coronation of former King Edmin V Lamorak. To what extent their reach was during that time is unknown, however, it is safe to assume they removed those who were a threat to the king, permanently. A concrete fact about the Venandi's involvement in this time is the murder of the Queen, the King's wife, and mother to current Queen Alicia.
