Tabby Fissures

Written by Lahtori

Homeland for the Tabby tribe. The fissures were once vast pine forests, providing genuine wood for construction and carpentry. Since a calamity years and years prior, the land itself has shriveled up and died. The ground has split into a spidery canyon, with deep pits descending far into the darkness.   Slowly, the land is being healed, and the pine trees have made a comeback.

Cities, Towns, Settlements

Tabbatha

The first dwelling for the Tabby tribe, once vast and home to hundreds of thousands, Tabbatha has fallen into ruins due to the calamities that befell the region years and years ago. The majority of the city has fallen into the fissures in the earth. Very few remain in small houses and cottages around the empty watchtower, close to the ocean. Those who live in Tabbatha are not well off enough to move to Port Gris.   Population: Under 80

Port Gris

The largest port of the kingdom, this port is the base of all nautical expeditions. While Catthorn Ridge does not boast a large navy, their ships are found at the port and along the coast there. Fishing vessels depart from Port Gris, and the majority of all sea-route trading happens through Port Gris as well.   For this reason, Port Gris is a merchant’s heaven. The docks are bustling with merchants and sailors showing off their wares. Shops of all shapes and sizes have been built throughout the years and created an immense shopping district in town.   Port Gris is also made up of the largest residential district of the Tabby sub-race. Their ancestors, having fled from Tabbatha and started new lives, built beautiful coastal homes. The money coming in from trade is evident in the architecture and the lasting new-feeling of the many buildings, old and new alike.   Population: 14,000

Tour Tigré

A newly build watchtower to aid the soldiers in keeping the borders safe. This tower is completely manned by Cattharn soldiers. A small settlement was erected for them to have dwellings when not on active duty.   Popularion: 10

Geography

The Fissures are surrounded on three sides by the Chaldean Ocean.   The land itself is barren save for the resurgence of the pine forest in the western part of the Fissures. Only time will tell if the cracks and pits will heal and the land fully return to its former glory.
