Flare Valley Rebels

The Rebels of Flare Valley are the group of individuals who were primarily responsible for planting the highly advanced computer virus that crippled The Sirasion Empire's War Droid Network and as a result brought the imperial military to its knees. This was the first move that began the chain of events that became known as the Great Uprising.   Though the rebel group of Flare Valley were by far the most organized rebel cell in the galaxy, they were by no means solitary in their efforts. They were merely a part of the wide spanning 'Galactic Rebellion' which comprised individuals from multiple backgrounds from pirates and mercenaries to minor factions all with the united goal of opposing the Sirasion Empire.

Structure

The Flare Valley Rebels were a specific sub-branch of the overall Galactic Rebellion movement. They were the biggest single group of rebels to take up arms against the Sirasion Empire and often had access to the best equipment, not to mention having the most secure and secluded base of operations.    The group was under the leadership of a council of prominent rebel figures, many of which were ex High Tekno members. Leadership struggles were rare within the organization due to the shared interest of a common goal, as well as individual teams within the Flare valley Rebels being given autonomy to conduct their own operations under their own designated leadership.

Culture

The Galactic Rebellion movement was extremely varied in terms of how they approached their goal of fighting the Sirasion Empire. Some were known to be extremely violent and would stop at nothing short of killing every last man, woman and child if it meant getting one over on their enemy, while others stuck to a more ethical stance on the fighting. The Flare Valley Rebels were very much the latter in that while they bitterly hated their enemy, very seldom would they resort to war crimes and other genocidal habits.    The Flare Valley Rebels had an almost 'holier than thou' attitude when it came to the Sirasions, keen on preserving that they were better than their opponents by not stooping to such horrible lows.

Assets

The Rebels would use anything they could get hold of, typically a lot of old High Tekno weapons and vehicles. One group of rebels' kit may wildly differ from the next several systems away. The Flare Valley Rebels were fortunate to have enough influence that they could manufacture their own weapons and armour, and to some extend, vehicles and star ships. They were known for the orange trimmed composite armour many of their soldiers would wear in combat.

History

Following the disarmament and eventual disbandment of the High Tekno, it became clear to a number of individuals across the galaxy that the Sirasion Empire, though heralded as the saviours of alien civilization from the genocide of the High Tekno, were here to stay. The Sirasions had grand plans for the galaxy and intended to ride their triumph all the way to the top, often at the cost of the widespread human race and other species that defied their rule.   The stability the Sirasion Empire brought with it was no shared across all worlds, with many being subjugated under the Empire for their unwillingness to commit themselves and their people to its cause. The Sirasions ruled over the unwilling through fear of harsh punishment which succeeded in keeping many of the unwilling worlds in check, however there were those who believed there was a better way than the Sirasion Empire.   It is no secret that the Galactic Rebellion was started by former High Tekno members who had it all planned out in case they lost their war with the Sirasions. The idea spread across the galaxy with the newly established Galactic Network which sought to be used by the Sirasions as a means of keeping control over their vast and ever growing Empire. Just as it was used to maintain imperial order, it was used by the rebels to spread anti imperial propaganda and organize groups to eventually start striking back against their overlords.     The Sirasion Empire made life very difficult to many worlds that were known to be loyal to the High Tekno, as well as any decentres. As a result the rebel movement was sparse and groups found it difficult to organize themselves into sizable attack forces and unite as one against the Sirasions.     This began to change as a group of rebels found the secret former High Tekno base of Flare Valley, an asteroid field where the base was hidden within the many crevices and caverns of the massive space rocks that also had a fitted defence system. The Sirasions never found the base back in the High Tekno war and any time they got close when it was occupied by the rebels the network of defensive weaponry hidden in the asteroids made short work of any scouts before they were able to tell of the bases location.    From Flare Valley, the galactic rebels spread their message of freedom from the oppressors, in this case, the Sirasion Empire. The rebels from Flare Valley sought to unite all of the splinter groups under one banner, and began to do so with great success. Having a significant amount of former High Tekno higher ups in their ranks they found old stockpiles of weapons and vehicles and took over manufacturing companies to produce even more. However still, despite this effort, the Sirasion Empire remained too strong as many rebel cells were still unaware of the Flare Valley Rebel's existence.

Project Spiderweb

From the early days of the Rebellion, project Spiderweb was being conceived. The Sirasion Wardroid Network was responsible for the command and control of all Sirasion Wardroids across the galaxy. It acted as the singular database they would receive software updates from and each droid would send diagnostic information so others could learn from it. The rebels saw a vulnerability in this network and sought to exploit it by engineering a deadly computer virus that could be inserted into the Wardroid Network hub and shut down every Wardroid across the galaxy, giving the downtrodden populations a window to fight back, as it was often the intimidating Spider Droids or Firefly Droids that were used to keep down a fighting population.     The project was finished in complete secrecy and a daring team of rebel fighters were tasked with infiltrating the Wardroid Mainframe on Siran. After trudging through its swamps and jungles they found what they were looking for.    The virus was inserted into the mainframe and the call to rise up was put out across the galaxy by the rebels. As every Wardroid switched off all the populations with decent towards the Sirasions took back their freedom. The Wardroid network was down for approximately two weeks, and in that time the Sirasions lost so much ground they were forced into a full retreat back to their home sectors. Now the Great Uprising was in full swing and the Rebels actions did not need to be kept secret anymore, even when the Wardroids came back on the Sirasions could not claw back what they had lost as they now faced an organized and united foe.     Following the defeat of the Sirasion Empire, the leaders of the Flare Valley Rebels established the Galactic Alliance, with many of its leaders bring comprised of former members of the Flare Valley Rebels.                 The Flare Valley Rebels   great uprising plan   computer virus   victory   transition to galactic alliance
