Firefly Droid

A shining example of Sirasion military tactics, the Firefly droid is designed to break the morale of enemy infantry formations. Its primary weapon is a deadly, long range flame thrower that lays waste to enemy infantry, fortifications and light vehicles. The Firefly droid, while being one of the smallest war droids, has garnered a reputation second only to the Spider droid.

Power Generation

Firefly droids are equipped with shrunken down Spider droid power matrix, in the firefly droid the matrix internals are specially heat proofed to make for less wear and tear from the extreme heat of the flame thrower. Due to the low power nature of such a weapon, Firefly droids require little raw energy to function, meaning they can operate for long periods of time without having to rest and recharge.

Propulsion

Firefly droids stand on four legs, each ending in a tri pronged, protosteel serrated claw. The claw appendages on the end of the legs make for an effective melee weapon against infantry and light armour.

Weapons & Armament

The main weapon of the Firefly droid, and its only ranged weapon, is the purpose built flamethrower nozzle attached to its head/turret. The flamethrower uses Kitranium K5H2, a jelly like substance with versatile properties. It can be melted down into liquid form, allowing for the classic, sticky jet of flame, or compressed into a gaseous form for shorter range and more dispersed bursts of flame. It can even be programmed by the Firefly droid to shoot volleys of fireballs or even into a compressed, fiery heat ray. The most prominent property about the flame thrower's fuel source is that K5H2 burns extremely hot, ranging from two thousand to two thousand five hundred degrees Celsius.

Armor and defense

Other than its protosteel armour, Firefly droids are equipped with a light shield, but this is mostly to protect from environmental hazards rather than direct fire.

Sensors

Being one of the earlier war droid designs, Firefly droids still use the Spider droid sensor set up but a lesser advanced version. By this effect, Firefly droids are considered one of the 'dumber' war droids.
