Spiderdroid
"No matter what i may accomplish in my life time, as Emperor or otherwise, my greatest achievement will always be the Spiderdroid" - Zurrok, Former Sirasion EmperorAn extremely adaptable wardroid, the Spiderdroid was the first of the designed wardroids, in it current form its armoured up in silver protosteel with reinforced blades on each of its eight legs, on land the spiderdroid is a powerful support vehicle, coming equipped with a specialized twin pulse battery capable of rapid burst firing or overcharging for a single, devastating shot. It's also more than capable of holding its own in combat, being equipped with a powerful force field that deflects the most dangerous oncoming attacks. if the spiderdroid wasn't versatile enough already, each of it's legs are equipped with repulser stabilizers, allowing it to splay its legs out and rotate then at high speed to become and airbourne whirling buzz saw, capable of matching, and in some cases outclassing enemy aircraft, in many cases opting to use it's blinding airbourne speed to simply slice through the fuselages of unfortunate enemies.
Power Generation
On the underside of the Spiderdroid is the vital Spiderdroid system matrix, this small object is capable of putting out enough power to light a city, as well as the power to catastrophically melt down and destroy most of one as well. the matrix also has the power to lift the Spiderdroid of the ground and turn it into an aerial messenger of death using a combination of repulserlifts and careful angling of its blades, as well as generate a powerful force field around the droid to keep it safe from danger.
An under hanging power generator is typical of Sirasion wardroid designs, the exception with the Spiderdroid's is that it outputs the same amount of power as a single unit of every other type of wardroid combined. Aside from this, all wardroid power sources work in the same way. Two counter rotating flywheels rub against a highly volatile material which's true name is still classified due to the Empire's concern for its enemies figuring out where it comes from. The material (often nicknamed element X) is stimulated and discharges high amounts of energy. The two flywheels continue agitating he element X until all the power nodes around the circumference of the power unit are full.
Wardroid reactors, specially the Spiderdroid's one, are at their most volatile when they are recharging, which is often after a high power shot from a main weapon or daring aerial maneuver. Should the casing of the reactor split, a catastrophic explosion may occur. To prevent this, the Spiderdroid matrix is equipped with an emergency shutdown protocal, if the matrix takes too much damage it will automatically shut itself down, and the on board nano bots will begin repairing it. the Spiderdroid from this point will go into hibernation until the matrix is repaired. When it is once against operable it will start itself up again and lock onto the nearest Sirasion signal, it will home in on this signal until it finds a Sirasion presence. Failing re-establishing a signal with imperial troops or other wardroids, it will attempt to carry out its last known orders. There have been many a case of lost battles where Spiderdroids previously assumed destroyed have repaired their reactors and came back online to go on to complete the mission entirely by themselves, long after imperial forces have left the world.
Propulsion
Spider Droids rely on eight legs positioned equally around their central body covering three hundred sixty degrees, this meaning they can change the direction they are travelling in an instant. This also goes for in the air. The Spider Droid uses repulserlift emitters across its legs to maintain altitude in space and on low atmosphere planets, otherwise it angles the blades on its legs to behave as one giant rotor. Due to the extreme torque the droid is under while flying, to change direction mostly involves altering position of one or more of its legs to deliberately throw itself off balance to change direction. It also uses its force field to remain aerodynamic even at the highest of speeds.
Weapons & Armament
The weapons of the Spiderdroid make it the feared weapon it is today, its weapon system consists of a specialized twin pulse battery mounted as a turret on top of the central body.
The pulse cannon system can be altered in power level depending on the target. For softer targets like infantry and light vehicles it can be charged to a burst firing mode, while in full power mode the Spiderdroid draws raw power from its matrix and charges it between the two gun barrels, the Spiderdroid will asses the situation and use its AI computer to decide how much power is to be drawn. The Spiderdroid's pulse battery is characterized by the blue targeting beam that is projected a split second before a full power shot is fired. This beam scans the target's armour and makes critical adjustments for things such as environmental factors, then lets loose with the main shot. A full power shot has no equal in armour. Duradite, redmatter armour and necronolium rending and tearing against the sheer power.
"The worst part about fighting them is that blue flash of the targeting beam. It gives just enough warning for your heart to drop into your stomach, but not enough that you can throw yourself into cover" - An unknown Alliance tactician.(add turrrt varients and additional info from old document)
Sensors
Spider Droids do not use visual sensors, instead relying on a network of sensor nodes all over their chassis that detect a varying degree of environmental factors and changes in a three hundred sixty degree arc. This is especially useful when the Spider Droid is its flight mode, allowing it to detect obstacles down to the most minuet level, making the Spider Droid unparalleled in daring low level flying.
