Gellatrian League

Positioned in the east of the Galaxy and situated on a major hyperspace lane, the Gellatrian League is a chain of 5 habitable star systems located within 50 lightyears of each other. The colonies were, like manyother worlds, ruled over by non-human slave owners called the Gratax until Earth Year 1973, when the High Tekno arrived and purged the system of the Gratax and freed the human underclass.   Following this event, the 5 habitable planets took new names, and the worlds of Gellatria, Marvost, Kirria, Psadu and New Suez were officially founded in 1978. Each world had developed a unique culture over time, and at first there was much disagreement and bitterness between the 5 worlds. Even after entering an economic alliance in 1987, each world was still suspicious and resentful towards the others.   This only worsened after the High Tekno's collapse, and a full civil war erupted in 2008. The Sirasion empire decided to step in and try to stop the fighting, which succeeded as with each planet divided, none could question or stand up to the imperial forces.   Over time the Sirasion occupation became permanent, with the empire setting up a naval base at Psadu. Meanwhile, Marvost and it's people became angry and hateful towards their imperial occupiers, and over time, became a hub for rebel activity in the sector. Kirria meanwhile became a smuggler and pirate's haven, with many criminals and illicit organisations calling the planet home, while New Suez, being effectively the entryway to the subsector, attracted many merchants and neutral parties. Gallatria, the most populous planet, largely remained neutral throughout the many conflicts and tensions of the great uprising, though like everyone, eventually the planet's government and it's people would face a choice: to join the Sirasion Empire or support the Galactic Rebels.

Territories

Gellatria was originally the Gratax homeworld, and as such it is perfect for sustaining life. Vast oceans, large landmasses of flora and auna and a nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere keep the planet warm. The planet has no large moons, and thus no tides, but this allows for gigantic coastal cities, such as the captial of Mara, to be constructed with little fear of erosion.   Marvost is a cool world with striking green-blue deserts, due to a large ammount of copper within it's surface soil. It shows clear signs of having been terraformed, and no traces of native life can be found on the surface. It's atmosphere is breathable, sustained by large fungus-like flora that convert energy from minerals in the soil to grow. Most of it's cities lie underground to take advantage of the planet's rich mineral wealth, and this mineral wealth brings much engineering talent to the world.   Kirria is not a planet but instead a large asteroid, which served as a Gratax mining and military base before the High Tekno purged them. The asteroid field it lies within is highly treacherous, and only the most cautious or daring captains can even get close. Kirria has no specific exports except for it's pilots, who show unparalleled skill with smaller vessels.   Psadu is a water world that has underwater cities and a moon to maintain tides. The water is rich with life, and serves as the planet's main export, but it's large moon also hosts shipyards that build and maintain vessels throughout the subsector. The Sirasion Navy keeps a large naval base on the moon, which also serves as their sector command centre.   New Suez is a Dwarf Planet that sits very closely to a busy hyperlane, and serves as the gateway to the Gellatrian Subsector. As such it maintains large docking and trade facilities, and the native Suezites are renowned for the constant use and recycling of equipment to the point where their frugalness is joked about throughout the rest of the sector. New Suez's capital (and only) city, New Suez, is built uopn a crashed Gratax Dreadnaught that fell in it's species final battle.

Trade & Transport

Public transport between the systems is limited due to the near-constant fighting in the subsector, but each planet has public ftl transportation throughout it's system, through the use of many craft from independent shuttles to large-scale space ferries.
