The Little Folk Changeling
The team have to sort out a problem with a young family in Eschbach. They believe that their infant son has been replaced with a changeling and need to find out the truth.
Plot points/Scenes
The team are tasked to investigate the strange case of a young infant believed to be a changeling. A young couple come to the council & Grimmaz. They believe their son called Jonah has been replaced with a changeling, and their real son is with the Fey. They (Hans & Greta) want to find out if this is true and what can be done to get their son back.
An examination of Jonah will reveal slight markings on his back on his shoulder blades, and he doesn't seem to react as other such young children do. He seems more observant & quiet with little fear of animals.
When this is done, the team is advised to check with Druidess Emma Duvkthorne & Alfrie. They will explain that the Fey in general will do this the odd time, partly due to their trickster nature, as well as a way to torment new parents, and to gain knowledge of the Material Realm without many of their kind entering the Plane too. The child would grow up and eventually look to cross over to the Feywild bring knowledge with them.
The child that is taken is well cared off, but if they arethere for any length of time, months, years even decades can occur in the Material Plane compared to their own time. This can result in parents dying of old age, maybe even siblings dying too.
The team need to go through and bargain with the Fey to swap back the children. Their first port of call should be the Pixie Queen Maisie, and they can use the portal to travel through to the Seelie Court. This is realatively easy to do and they will find the Queen present with more of her kind, some Satyrs &* a few goats, all of whick may be getting it on in an orgy. The Queen may ask if they want to join in.
Reolus is able to question the Fey about the Dark Fey. Maisie will advise him that the Dark Fey are like that and very chaotic, who follow their own paths and don't care what mortals think. She will mention it's nothng that could be prevented and they usually do evil pranks like what they did with the chicken & geese. They are generally not up to anything & no rumours have surfaced about them doing anything else.
She may warn him not to antagonize the Dark Fey or he may be targetted by them at some time out of sheer spite.
Either way, she can be persuaded to help, and they find it was the old Green Hag to the south that changed the children with one of the Baobha Sidhe thinking it would be fun to see the parents being tormented in later life by this creature. They are free to travel there and deal with it any way they wish.
If they make it down to the Hag's house, they can try to bargain with her to swap the children back. Either that or fight her and take the child back and return the changeling. One option is to try to break in and steal the child. In any of these options the Hag may bargain with Grimmaz and try to get him to do something she wants in return for the child. This will likely involve setting up a child in Eschbach to be taught by the Hag.to take over from her when she dies or moves from the region. Problem is, is that she is likely to never move or live long enough to go through countless children. The Hag also has a bag of 50 gold, and another with 5 pearls, and a specific potion botte (one use and permanently boosts one Stat , not above 20 though)
When swapped the parents Hans & Greta will be overjoyed and look to give some type of gift. This gift will be 250 gold from their bakery business, 3 emeralds & 1 gold bar.
