Whitecrest Ridge
Whitecrest Ridge is the seat of power in The Obsidian Jungle, the westernmost principality of Empyrea. The harsh conditions make life there hard and the people harder still.
The city is situated in a gigantic crater called The Basin where, though the topsoil is suitable for planting, just a few feet deep it gives way to the glassy black rock that gives the region its name.
Whitecrest Ridge is also a city of great strategic importance. Because most of the inhabitable parts of Empyrea are protected by mountains and icy waterways that are virtually impassable for most of the year, the few places where a large pass through The Palisades can be found require the bulk of the country's defense. The Basin is located at one end of the largest such pass.
Terror Canyon leads directly from the walls of Whitecrest Ridge through The Dreaded Wastes (Territory) and into Athijan Afrya on the other side, at a city called Phlaine.
The prince who rules the principality of the Obsidian Jungle is Raxys Cloudshaker.
