Ostratha

One of the more important colonies of the Duchy of Katath, it sits on the main landmass of Antir, west of the City-State of Pontemar. It is accessed via the river connecting to the sea, using the trade winds to sail into the lake and city. To exit however, ships sail the same direction, and into the cold mountainside of the Avitus Range, which leads them through a series of tunnels to the next colony.
The city gets its name from Lake Ostrath, which it sits beside. The lake is the largest source of Pulvis Pods in Antir, and the main export of the city. Without this valuable resource, a settlement wouldn't exist in such an open and exposed area of the surface.
A large slave population is used to harvest the pods, which are volatile and only grow on the freezing lakebed.
