City-State of Pontemar
A new nation that has relatively recently splintered off from the larger Jarldom of Havdir, forming its own microstate on the surrounding peninsula of Pontemar. Formed in 2334 PA by a plutocratic uprising, the city itself is now almost solely trade-focused. It is a major competitor to the other largely maritime civilisations of the Jarldom of Havdir and the Free Republic of Ceter. The wealthy elite, nearly all of whom are merchant barons and guildmasters, run the city through a hereditary Guild of Mercantilism. Each family within the guild is given sole rights to a specific trade good or means of artisan production, and they control everything relating to said goods unrestricted.
