The Neih Revival

The Neih Revival is an offshoot of the Church of Veritas as it was founded by one of its members, the Prophet Frillith, but it has no connection with the political elements of that institution. It was founded in the year 1040. It is located in the country of Tumult mainly in and around the city of Felicity. But the revival is spreading like wildfire, and as Tumult is a secular nation with no official religion, the movement is on its way to becoming the largest religious organization in the country. While the Tumult government is focused on the war machine in their war with the Dormant, the Neih Revival leads the recovery efforts of regions such as Pinecone, Crossroads, Riverside, and Feliity, becoming quite popular amongst the people as the previous decade saw much natural devastation to the region. While it is a growing movement, critics think it will burn out as quickly as it arose, as it is mostly founded on hero worship of the charismatic prophet who died before she could really build her church.

Culture

Their culture is fairly apolitical and anti-bureaucratic, as it was founded in opposition of greedy politicians who would destroy the world and nature for power. As followers of Neih, nature and its care is their priority.

Public Agenda

Their public agenda is environmental rejuvenation. This is not only planting and protecting forests, but also reviving agricultural potential and providing food to the people. They also oppose Lich King Bedrich's use of necrotic powers and the undead, though the king is working hard to compromise with the group.

History

The sect was founded in 1040. There were two events that truly sparked this revival. One was the challenge which Frillith brought to Tumult's parliament building. The institution of dominated by Demon Worship at the time, and her anger poured out into a Neihite miracle where Neih itself backed her protest. This destroyed the parliament building, rearranging it into their first church. While the governmental officials tried to reclaim it, the following Dance Incident and Frozen War killed that effort. The second incident that cemented the revival was the vigil Frillith did after the Dance Incident. Leading the cities mourning, the Neih Revival was in full swing. Following that, their prophet died heroically in the Frozen War, bringing victory for Tumult.   After the death of King Iscalon and disappearance of Prince Bedrich, the city of Felicity was in shambles. The Grantham nobility took over for a time, but distrust with the political class was high. The Neih Revival filled in socially while the government was reeling. When Bedrich returned with an army of undead at his back, they were naturally distrustful. This, and news of a potential contest for the throne with the bastard prince Lairus, made them uncertain whether to back this new king. They currently run a campaign of civil disobedience.   King Bedrich knows of their distrust, though he does not know who this Lairus fellow is (except that he also showed up in Dusk and led the victory for Tumult there against the demons). Thus, King Bedrich set out to appease this group by sending out adventurers to find the body of their prophet, wherever she may be.

Mythology & Lore

See Church of Veritas. The Neih Revival believes the same, though they focus their attention on Neih rather than have a branch for every plane along the path of Veritas.
