Trolls are physically the biggest and srongest of the seven mortal races. Therefore they are relatively slow and often simple minded. Too often this is however confused with stupidity. Trolls are not stupid. They are in general a moderately intelligent race, they simply do not care for new things when they already have something that works for them. Another widespread misbelief is that trolls are agressive and brutal. Infact they value their peace so high that during the Long Peace they preferred beeing enslaved on rare occasions to offering resistence and risking an open war. Therefore it would be much closer to the truth to call them cowards than cruel monsters, altough of course none of them is really true.
Yet if the need arises they can be brutal and relentless fighters. A single troll can easily fight a dozen demons and get away without as much as a scratch. Part of this causes from their thick and with increasing age almost horny skin that protects them easily as well as a leather armour. But also their hatred for the demons burns as bright as in any other mortal race. Terefore they were a strong force in the war with the demons and saved many battles when they already seemed lost.
