Humans are one of the seven mortal races created by the gods to fight the demons. Together with dwarves and gnomes they belong to the wandering folk that do not settle down after being created but immediatly start spreading over the Land. They have the ability to adapt withing only a few decades to a whole new enviroment. At first they are even welcomed into places already inhabited by other races and fast friendships grow. Wherever they beginn to settle down they begin quickly to develop their own languages and traditions.
During the Long peace the different settlements soon come up with different crafts which they quickly master. The population and wealth of the people grows and so do their numbers. The first cities begin to rise in the riverlands. Architecture develops fast and the complexity of buildings grows with it. Other crafts, traditions and ideals arise and develop swiftly. In his way they disregard the danger the demons pose and therefore get hit hard by the first attacks as the demons pour out of the desert.
In the war against the demons they play a great role as their sheer number holds the demons off in many battles. Yet therefore the human race has the highest number of fallen soldiers, in many later battles no one even counts the fallen anymore. Thanks to their numbers exceeding the numbers of any other mortal race save he demons they can however stand these extreme losses for a long time.
