Dreamcatchers are immortal spirits, descended onto the Land during the great demonwar to aid the mortal races. Altough they - as all the spirits - took physical bodies upon coming in this world the dreamcatchers are often seen more as ghosts for they may work their power from a distance on a sleepy mind and leave behind nothing but a whisp of memory.
Hardly any mortal has ever encountered these beeings while awake for they avoid the mortals. Only when asleep, dozing or daydreaming they may be spotted. They are believed to be able to influence our dreams, sowing messages, foresight or their own will in anothers head, leaving hardly a trace behind. However such a dream will be confusing and more clear to the mind even after waking than a normal dream. Also the feeling of loss and uttermost sadness after waking can be a sign.
On rare cases, dreamcatchers may even influence the waking mind, showing it things that are not there. Looking deep into the souls of their victims they may distract one with the calling of a loved one or the roaring of the deepesr fears.
They take no great interest in the happenings of the Land nor its peoples. They have never been present at a single meeting of the high council nor followed any orders of the godking
