Elf
One of the most prominent races in Errath , the Elven people can be found throughout the continents of Alkay and The Midlands, as well as the more wild reaches of Somaj. The Thien, as the Midlands elves call themselves, are an ancient race. While their origins are debated, with many elf cultures having wildly different stories, the elves all seem intrinsically tied to nature and magic.
Elves of the March are in general a naturally lithe, slender people. Their height is highly variable, even more so than humans which they range both taller and shorter than, increasing the human average range by six inches on either side. Their ears are elongated, sometimes stretching past their skulls, and their eyes are larger than a comparable human's. While long-lived, the elves of the March do not have the incredible lifespan of those of other settings. An elven child matures at about twice the rate of a human child, and they are not considered to have reached adulthood until their thirtieth birthday. An elf over 150 years old is considered an elder, and 200 years is about the average lifespan.
