Sun Elf

The Elf population of Teotzil form the seven tribes of the Tolmec, tracing their lind through to the first people of Alkay. While the majority of the elven population are now mixed blood with the Human conquerors from Corteso, they are considered no less a part of the Sun Elf people and tradtions.

The Seven Tribes of the Tolmec have never been truly united since the downfall of the Orgrec Empire, and many say that even that was no more than an alliance of convenience. The tribes held their own territory, and even after colonization tend to hold onto their distinct identities. Some tribes like the Del Sol and Guerrero have largely merged into Teotzin culture, while others like the Cazadores and Coatl hold on tighter to the old ways. And there is the mysterious Tribue de los Muertos who have gone underground, rumors saying they have spread throughout the land, hidden amongst the people.
  • La Tribu del Jaguar - Founded by Hunaque and devoted to the Jaguar of the Sky, the sun god Tolextzil. Hunaque was a leader and unifier who did not hesitate to take on the greatest threats himself. He was an inspiration, and is heralded throughout Teotzil as a hero. Many now believe he was an incarnation of Thane sent to save the Golden Kingdom from darkness. The Jaguar tried to follow his example and be leaders and uniters among the tribes, a task that seemed impossible. Their fighting styles involve resiliency, speed, and fire.
  • La Tribue de los Muertos - Founded by Micltan, and devoted to Xitomacal, god of the dead and the underworld. The Death Tribe was always reclusive, and seemed to have disappeared after colonization. As the revolution takes hold though, rumors of los Luchadores del Muertos appearing among the people grows. Their fighting styles often include dark or necromantic powers.
  • La Tribue de Cazadores - Founded by Cuerno, a great hunter who took on the aspects of the creatures he defeated. He was devoted to Queraxalla, goddess of nature and of animals. The Beast tribe preferred the southern jungles, and are known to both tame incredible creatures, and to emulate them. Some of their luchadores wear beast masks of a totem animal, while others cast themselves more as hunters, and some are said to transform into the animals themselves.
  • La Tribue de Coatl - Founded by Coatixli, a warrior who devoted herself to the rainbow serpent. The Coatl were masters of life, both in healing and in agriculture, and it was their food that fed most of the empire. Through their devotion to the Rainbow Serpent they gained allies with the Coatl and, it is said, with dragons.
  • La Tribue de Lluvia - Founded by Tixaco, who fought with a flowing dance emulating the waters, and dedicated to Xiexhi, goddess of the rain and seas. The rain tribe primarily lived along the coast, and dealt with those outside the empire more than any others. They are known for their speed and grace, but also as the first to fall to Coresto's colonization.
  • La Tribue de Estrellas - Founded by Ixtli, a scholar who defeated her enemies through cunning and learning their weaknesses. Ixtli followed Tlazolecti, the goddess of the moon and stars, who wove elves fates into the constellations. The Star tribe values knowledge, and their fighting style emulates their founder in seeking to better themselves while learning the weaknesses of their opponents.
  • La Tribue de Guerrero - Founded by Chaxzilo, a tenacious fighter who let nothing stand in the way of victory, and dedicated to Huichalco, god of warfare. The Guerrero tribe believe in a philosophy of brutal efficiency. Prizing physical strength and tenacity, the warriors also take many tactics that the other tribes consider dishonorable. They take this mentality outside of combat as well, and have undermined many rivals through the most underhanded of methods.
