Blueline Rails

The most famous means to get around in New Caliber are the elevated rail lines that weave throughout the city to their central hub at the Ministry. There are stops central to most major areas, though the lines tend to stay in similar economic zones. The gold line for example runs through Mithril Mile , the Business District , and Urah's Bazaar. The trains on the gold line are works of art, and the seats spacious. Guards are posted on each car to ensure safety, and to see to the needs of passengers. The gold line is also enchanted with spells to keep the sound and motion of the trains minimal and the ride smooth. 
The black line, in contrast, runs primarily between the South End  and The Sledges . Black line cars are often dirty and damaged, and during the rush hours the cars are packed to the limits with barely room for anyone on board to move. The engines of the rail are loud and smoky, and the train creates a physical and audible racket as it goes past some of the cheapest apartments of the South End. Initially there were multiple companies building the rails, but after competition became problematic, the city offered a contract to whichever company proved it could best handle the traffic. After a year of negotiating (and violence) all of the cities rails were consolidated under the Blueline Corporation.
