Mayor Scala
This young-looking Zora woman is mostly light blue, with white underscales and purple highlights on her head. Her long headfins flow over her official Diplomats Guild of Krakonia (DGK) garments, a somewhat fancy suit fitted to accommodate her wide-finned hips. She wears the traditional jewelry of the zora, with thin silver bracelets on her arms and ankles and long amethysts on her headfins, the Zora equivalent of earrings. While not typically visible, it is known by the locals that this woman bears a Black Kraken Arbiter's Mark on the underside of her left hipfin.
Mayor Scala is the current mayor of Fresh Mill Village, and is generally known as a kind, modest, and polite woman who puts the needs of her own people above that of her own. She has a reputation as someone who takes it upon herself to get things done, insisting that she meet and learn about every single citizen of her village, and encouraging them to request help if she can provide it. It comes as no surprise that a person with this disposition would be elected by the people, their overwhelming support for her being the basis of the DGK's decision to appoint her as mayor.
Scala is originally from the Hylia plane of existence, but has spent enough time in Requerm at this point that her old home is little more than a distant memory. She helped build Fresh Mill Village long before The Kingdom of Krakonia was founded, gathering the resources needed to create the settlement, and aiding others in its physical construction while healing them when the dangers of Requerm's wilds threatened the builders. She used her knowledge of fresh water resources to establish the settlement as a self-sufficient farming village before becoming a farmer herself. Being a socialite, Scala spent much of her free time communicating with her neighbors, befriending them with ease and mediating disagreements between them. Eventually, the leaders of Krakonia City established trade routes between the two settlements, which Scala gladly helped facilitate, knowing such trade opportunities would bring prosperity to everyone involved. Her involvement in such dealings is credited with being the biggest reason she was eventually chosen to be mayor once the Kingdom of Krakonia was founded and the village officially assimilated, despite not actually having any official political background.
Scala never completely forgot her roots from the Hylia plane, always remembering her daily religious rituals for the Hylian Goddesses, in particular Nayru, Goddess of Wisdom, where she draws her strength. She was training to be a healer amongst her people before she was brought into Requerm, and while her training was never completed, her devotion to Nayru had already been well established. Over time, as more and more people from Hylia were drawn in due to The Effects of the Dawn, Scala began paying attention to what scholars brought over from Hylia, hoping to one day actually finish her training, so that she could finally honor her ancestors from another world. Having accumulated many books on the topic from the capital, her own home is now the best source of knowledge about Hylia within the village.
Mayor Scala was technically introduced in the first session of the campaign as one of the clients of the behests that the party accepted from The Adventurers Guild of Krakonia (AGK), but she did not appear in person until session 2-2, when the party got around to attempting the behest. She requested that the party investigate the village to determine if rumors of a mysterious creature had any truth to them, and when they met her in person, she provided a few names of villagers she believed had the most reliable information on the topic. Once the party came back and told her what they had learned, she realized that the creature they were looking for was likely a Red Chu-Chu, a Creature of Darkness from her plane of origin. Worried about the implications of Creatures of Darkness appearing in Requerm without a chosen hero of the Goddess Hylia to combat them, she insisted that the party take out the Chu-Chu, or Chu-Chus, before they become a real threat.
