Keeping
The Keeping is a shifting, mixed oligarchy of representatives from prominent families, well-respected civil servants, and other individuals who otherwise have significant social influence (such as Gild leaders) that acts as the governing body of Keismeb.

All representatives -- a.k.a. Keepers -- have equal democratic voting power.
History
The Keeping came into being five years after the founding of Keismeb in response to widespread lawlessness, though it took some further generations to lose its own bloodthirsty and backstabbing nature and take on more philanthropic goals.
On the 61st Day of the Season of Ripening, 985AC, the Keeping hosted the first gathering of the Violet Accord in Keismeb; three members of the Keeping were founding members of the benign political alliance concerned with further study of the ikam discovered earlier that year. When it later became obvious that the Accord would need to defend itself from the Pact of the Blessèd, it was the Keeping that cobbled-together their own private military forces and assisted in larger recruitment efforts to strengthen the Host of Selephise.
